Doen't happen as often in MLB... but I've seen a few times during beer league softball where the pitcher gets smoked by a hit right up the middle. One time the pitcher got a welt as big as a golf ball right on his shin.

Does anyone remember when John Mabry got hit in the face by a pitch a few years ago [B]and didn't even go down?[/B] Just shook his head and waited for the trainer to come out. Most incredible thing I've ever seen. Dude is tough as balls.
