Heard on espn last night they wanna make a run @ Albert Haynesworth. That what you're hearing Steve?

Re: TB Bucs to release 5 veterans...

It's possible if TN doesnt sign him, but there is also talk about the possibility that as soon as he gets his BIG money deal, he will shut it down, so there is a bit of apprehension too

they wanted Julius Peppers to hit the free agent market, but now he has been frianchised, it will cost WAY too much to get him

Re: TB Bucs to release 5 veterans...

yeah, it sucks, I've followed his career since his FSU days.. him and Warrick. I'm wondering if they're releasing him to sign him to a smaller deal after free agency starts. I've seen that happen before too.

Re: TB Bucs to release 5 veterans...

Re: TB Bucs to release 5 veterans...

shouldn't be either imo, they both deserve to finish their careers in Tampa

Re: TB Bucs to release 5 veterans...

Brooks is the Bucs. Guy's a class act with what he does in the community & how he carries himself. Nevermind prolly prepares unlike any player in the NFL. Arcticle about him in SI few weeks back was very eye opening. Who will fill that spot?

Re: TB Bucs to release 5 veterans...

All you Gruden haters wanted gruden gone and were ready for change....Well u got ur change now.....

Bux are a complete joke now.

Re: TB Bucs to release 5 veterans...

Chuck, come on, Gruden ruined the careers of quite a few players on this team and was average at best, shite most of the time as a coach

these decisions were bad I admit, and the press conference was a freaking joke. I mean DB had 1 year left on his contract, let the guy earn his job next season, and let him go out on his terms.

with the talent the bucs had they should never have had a losing season any of the years after they won the super bowl. I wouldnt say they are a joke now, but I will say these two guys, coach and gm, better have a tremendous draft and do some amazing things in free agency

They better...but from what we have seen the last few years they wont do a damn thing.

last time I checked there were 60+ million under the cap. The might as well put the orange and cremsicle back on!!

Re: TB Bucs to release 5 veterans...

what do u mean....it the Glazers with the money. I am sure chucky would have spent every last penny if he could have.

oh well. they better go crazy this year...sign peppers, ray lewis, hanesworty ect. maybe go after boldin

#1172829Post 14 of 19

Re: TB Bucs to release 5 veterans...

Peppers has been labled a franchise player, will cost tons plus i think TWO 1st round picks

Ray Lewis is getting up there, if they were going to go that old they would have kept Brooks

and who knows what you'll get with Haynesworth after he gets his big pay day

Boldin said he wants to stay in Arizona

lol, do you actually follow football? ;)

and what do you mean what do I mean?

The Bucs havent drafted very well or really done anything decent in free agency beside Galloway and Bryant since Dungy and McKay left.. who has been evaluating talent since then.. JG and BA ;) two of the best players they have had in during their time here were cut and brought back.. ie: Earnest Graham and Clifton Smith.. the latter took the kick return spot from their big second round pick last year, and the former was on the practice squad year after year until Cadillac went down

boldin just started changing his mind....forgot that peppers got franchised...

Re: TB Bucs to release 5 veterans...

Article today in the st. pete times that pretty much says that brooks would like to (be willing) to come back to the bux if they watned him..

i sure wish they would bring him back ( i know that wont happen) but i would feel so much more excited about next year if he could play out his last year and retire as a buc...

Re: TB Bucs to release 5 veterans...

yeah, I agree, there aren't too many athletes that I would truly like to meet, but DB is deffo one. When I moved to Florida he was just finishing at FSU and Warrick Dunn was just starting there. Besides my English football jerseys, the only other ones I have ever bought are DB's and WD's. I'm really glad they will at least be a part of the community after football
