2-0 whose the pussies now bitches

#287381Post 2 of 60

I admire Schilling to do what he has done tonight. To get stitches put in then taken out afterwards, to play in a bloody sock from it, he cares so much...god i get such a good feeling for him and this team.

let us not forget what has happened this 2004 playoffs...

sox down 3 games, came back and won, 4 straight.

cards lost three straight, won all their home games, won the series.

it's not over until one team has won 4 games...or did you just pick up watching baseball recently Buckman?

pedro certainly isnt in top form lately...i really hope he can pull through for us. If he would just throw more mid to upper ninety mph balls it would help. he just needs to focus and what not. if he fucks up, ill worry a lot more.

Re: So The Sox are pussies eh

Sox in game six... That is my call. The Cards are too good not to win at least 2 games. I hope it's the sox in 4 but that would be wishful thinking...

GO SOX!!!

Definitely a lot of baseball left to be played... By no means is this series over, but I do find it encouraging that the card's pitching does look average... Hopefully Rolen/Edmonds keep hitting the way they have been...

^ i think you are right now that Boston finally beat the yanks in the playoffs, BUT we know steinbrenner has an unlimited checkbook and it definitely isn't impossible for that to happen. shit, i could see that greedy fucker try to pay roger to come back to the yanks too.

steinbrenner = too fucking rich

Re: So The Sox are pussies eh

for the series at hand i would have to say that i am happy with the beginning of the series.. Please people do not tempt this curse.. it is  ... it will probably go to 7 games but the curse is real... Wierd things have happened in the past and are happening now if u haven't noticed.. Why are the Sox making so many god damn errors.. 8 in 2 games?? that is bizare for a professional team that has come this far... I am definetly going for the Sox don't get me wrong... But it isn't over til it's over.. Watch the curse in action.. I have this gut feeling though that Boston will lose only because of the sudden bad fielding by the Sox... But on the other hand it is better to be up 2-0 on the curse then 0-2... :D .. So GO RED SOX!!

Green Socks got in the bag. The Cards have been nothing but disapointing. I am sorry Jenks, they need to get the ball rolling. Was it too cold for them? Was the park floating with legends?

Get it together Cards You fucking I can not hit a ball over a small fence team.

Re: So The Sox are pussies eh

Listening to some of the morons calling up the local sports radio shows, you'd think we had already won the whole thing! :FuckOff:

These next few games (well, hopefully only 2) are going to be a battle. The Cards are lights out at home, and the fans there are just as rabid as Boston fans. You know that the bats are going to come alive - their batting avg. is something like 100 points higher at home :HolyShit: - and a quality start from Suppan could send them through to the 7th or 8th and keep their battered bullpen (see: Tavares) off the mound. What scares me the most is that we haven't seen StL play the kind of smallball that got them to the Series. If they put up an early lead in these home games, they are going to be tough to keep up with. By the same token though, I can't seen Mueller or Bellhorn continue stacking up the errors - they're too good in the field for that to go on. ManRam in left and Ortiz at first....well that's another story.

I pulling for the Sox all the way of course, but we probably won't see the same StL team we saw in Boston. Should be a stormer!

Agree completely, however the reality is Suppan is not going to throw a gem tonight. I could be sticking my foot in my mouth and trust me, I'm knocking on wood, but ideally for the cardinals he will go 7 strong only giving up 3 to 4. On the flip side, the cards bats will be a whole different story in St. Louis. I'm hoping we see the old Pedro and he throws the gem, but who knows. I think this game will be the difference maker for both teams. Can't wait for tonight - GO SOX.
Was it too cold for them? Was the park floating with legends?
i was at the NLCS game in stl when it was 35 degrees F. weather wasn't the problem.

as for legends...STL has more legends in their history than boston could put in one sock.

Fact is, boston has better pitching, and we're not capitalizing on their errors, or our opportunities. Game 1, 7th inning, we had bases loaded with one out, and didn't score 1 fucking run...we lost the game right there. 8 errors already in 2 games? and we have not won. Busch Stadium will be a different story. Go Cards!
as for legends...STL has more legends in their history than boston could put in one sock.
Pretty aggressive quote don't you think?

#287786Post 30 of 60

^Not being arrogant. Maybe a little more than one sock for Boston. Facts are facts...the Yanks and Cards are the two most storied legendary teams in baseball. The Yanks, holy fuck, can't even begin to compete with what they did in the 1900's, but saying that, there isn't a team other than the yanks that can compare to what the Cards accomplished in that time too.

History. Boston has plenty of it, not taking anything away from them...it's just a ridiculous statement to say the Cards are in awe of Boston's legends in some way.

#287790Post 31 of 60

Re: So The Sox are pussies eh

Yeah that quote gets the big 'ol :FuckOff: from me.

Both have great players past and present, both are great sports towns both have a long and storied history - no need to make it a dick swingin contest.

#287792Post 32 of 60

Re: So The Sox are pussies eh

^ I don't think you're being arragont at all, just thought your comment was a little aggressive. By no means could the sox compete with the st. louis cardinals history and championships, however your original comment had to do with competing with legends, not history of championships. Numbers speak for themselves for St. Louis, but actual legends for the teams I think we could compete...

#287799Post 33 of 60

Re: So The Sox are pussies eh
dick swingin contest.
it's not a dick swinging contest, but for the record, check out the title and first post of this thread? um, yeah...fans lob out their dicks all over this board for their sports teams.

i'm so sick of Boston and NY thinking the entire world revolves around them. They're not the only two cities with sports teams. They're not the only two cities with championships. They're not the only two cities with legendary accomplishments and players.

i want STL to win, but if by some horrible circumstance we don't, i will at least take the satisfaction that finally Boston won a world series, and maybe now they can shut the fuck up about it.

here, i'll say something nice about Boston Sox...Manny Ramirez is awesome! Here's a guy who doesn't really give a fuck, misses practice, misses workouts, is lazy, does what he wants, when he wants, and when he does show up to the park, he mashes the fucking baseball 500 ft on command. Curt Shilling, GAMER!! His right foot is about to fall off, and he's still smoking them across the plate mid 90's. Ortizzle, Go Fuck Yourself...lol, damn that guy is a machine. And i've got a lot of respect for Theo Epstein. Harvard grad, with honors, and took control of the Boston RedSox at age 27, with the task of taking down the greatest sports franchise in history, the yanks, how fucking sick is that?? Wish my first job out of college was that, but then again, i went to a party school, not Harvard.

Ted Williams, god bless him hanging upside down in a frozen locker with his head in a mason jar on a shelf somewhere, last man to hit .400 ever, and he did it two straight seasons.

Yaz, one of the best hitters in baseball history.

Cy Young...ffs, they named the pitching award after him. Scoreboard!

Babe, lol, well, you can't really count babe can you.

the list goes on and on, i know, Russ Gibson, Dom Dimaggio, Bruce Hurst, John Tudor (card as well), Carlton freaking Fisk!!

really, i'm taking nothing away from the Sox history, i know my baseball, let's just not forget who the Sox are playing right now.

#287822Post 34 of 60

Re: So The Sox are pussies eh

^ Bro, I'm not talking shit and more than respect the cards... By the way, great Bruce Hurst reference... My favorite Card/Sox is Willie Magee... :D

GO SOX

#287881Post 35 of 60

from the stats they are both offensive teams ... which i guess is who gets to base and comes around the bend to home first, and more often.

Jenks. I am for Cards, but at the moment it ain't looking very pretty for them ... I believe 77% to Boston for being up 2-0. I just would like a series. I watched Boston do it, and I can not see why STL could not.

Cheers Bro, may the best team win.

Re: So The Sox are pussies eh

All the Sox need to do is win tonight and i think they will have a good hold on the series... there really isn't any reason for them not to.. They have there long time ace on the mound.. they need to get back to boston up 3-2.. That is what they should be aiming for i think.. They will probably lose game 5 and six so tonight IMO is a must win if they want to win the series..

Good call, but I think it's a must win for both teams cause SL goes down 3 to 0, it's going to be tough to come back. I know, the sox did it to the yanks...but I just don't think SL would be able to recover with their pitching staff.

#288094Post 38 of 60

Just found out that the Yankees will be opening against the Red Sox in Boston next year. How about that for a slap in the face huh? All of you yYankee fans should really get on the STL bandwagon...STAT! You don't want to see them raise the WS flag at Fenway when the Yanks are there do ya?
