wow. great baseball. MLB needed that last night.

billy wagner sux. i hope it comes down to the NLCS and the mets and phillies are in game 7 and billy wagner and lidge go back and forth blowing thier saves.

great pre game ceremony. but koufax and the others shoulda shown up. the ovation for yogi berra was really touching as he is the last living hall of famer to play at the stadium for the yanks unless they elect willie randolph or mattingly to the hall. yeah winfeild played, but he is a padre.

seeing willie mays, hank aaron, yogi, and the rest on the feild was great.

steinbrenner's entrance and ovation was great. knowing how he was, it was special seeing him in tears.

the game itself... wow. pitching showcase. jeter 1-3 with a SB. arod again shows he is an idiot by actually leaving the stadium when he was pulled. not much action until the homer by holliday and then JD drew. but it was all about the relief pitching just putting on a show. clutch all night outside of billy wagner.

the rivera entrance woulda been amazing IF FOX DIDNT SUCK AT COVERING SPORTS as they should have given the country a real example of what that place is like when Mo walks in. utter insanity. and the treatment of papelbon was histerical and shows why the yanks/sox is the greatest rivalry in sports.

my only issue is that the league shuold allow the pitchers to come back in in cases like last night and 2002. let the managers bring back in the starters if the game goes long.

Re: all star game

indeed that was a good game, but i have a huge problem with it.

my gripe is that the all star game should not be going 15 innings. after 9 innings if it is tied, it is tied. the all star game should not be determining home field advantage for the world series. you play 15 innings, the players get tired, the risk of injuries increase and all in a game that means nothing to 95% of the players in it. an all star game should be a fun priviledge, not a stressful competition. stupid.

Re: all star game

nah, i knida like the series being on the line. for too long people were opting out, not playing hard and generally turning the night into a BS show. now its a game where at least the best players are together trying to win. expand the rosters, or let the players come back into the game.

Re: all star game

lmao, arod, albeit a nice guy, cant get out of his own way. he can thank scott boras for teaching him how to act in public.

alex, whatever you think, clear it with mariano and derek, please. jeter has fucked half the maxim 100 and still doesnt garner the media attention.

Re: all star game

the fact that this exhibition game decides the home field for the WS is a travesty. bud selig should be shot. he should have been shot a long time ago.
