Re: Josh Hamilton HR derby

man, that was an insane display of power. that kid was absolutely pulverizing the ball. not surprisingly, i think he used up all his energy in that first round. but good lord it was worth watching.

deffo used up all his energy but you know what.. years from now whats going to be more memorable? the person that won the contest or the display of power and the 13 in a row that Hamilton hit :D

I thought it was cool to see the little kids running up and giving him water and then him signing something in the middle of it, you could tell JH himself was in awe of what was happening

True! Even though Morneau won the derby he even said that today was about Hamilton.

Damn, I was really hoping Hamilton was going to pull through and take the third round. He was only like 9 away from breaking the all time record... I think.

Re: Josh Hamilton HR derby

I was kind of disappointed that Hamilton didn't win it, but it was definitely still his day.

Re: Josh Hamilton HR derby

Re: Josh Hamilton HR derby

that was awesome...and to see the crowd just give it up for every shot. Almost like he tried to keep outdoing himself.

Couple came real close to leaving the stadium...now THAT would have been something...

Re: Josh Hamilton HR derby

I guess being in Tampa and knowing what he has been thru, and yes a lot was self induced, but to see him in awe of what was happening and a kids smile on his face and his All Star teammates completely in the moment was really something special.

I REALLY enjoyed the camera shots from the upper deck.. that shit was crazy

and the cops chasing those guys and grabbing the one around the neck, lol.. wtf!

Re: Josh Hamilton HR derby

the players were laughing their asses off at those kids and the security po po... i thought that was hilarious.

Re: Josh Hamilton HR derby

i could barely contain myself watching this. first learned about this guy while reading a newspaper a couple months ago, and he seems to have risen above, and simply excelled past his past. good for him, and good for baseball to have such a positive story to thrive on for a minute. watching that guy clobber those homeruns was awesome! and the fact that the New York crowd embraced him so strongly made it that much cooler. this was refreshing to see.

Re: Josh Hamilton HR derby

first baseball game i went to was a spring training game between yanks/rangers. mattingly hit a homerun and the yankees killed em. been hooked ever since. i was 9 or 10 so it was pretty captivating.
