ACL surgery takes a while to recover from, depeding on how they do it.

He will most likely do an allograft. (Cadaver tendon) This is quicker healing, but not the best long-term solution. An autograft is the best way to fix it. That means using your own tendon, usually the patellar tendon. This makes for a better fix, but if you tear it again, you are up shit creek.

6 month recovey for an autograft. It takes that long for the bone plugs to fuse solid.

i think he'll probably do the surgery that gives him the most durability since he's taking the rest of the season off. if his knee has been this fucked up for this long, i would think that would be the route he wants to take.
