Re: FAO thesightless

detroit might be the biggest shocker of the season so far imo. on paper that team is playoff bound.

just goes to show you, "that's why we play the games"

The Cubs are smoking hot this season, but i'm still geeked about the cards- second best record in the NL. The cards haven't played like this in years, and i believe it's all due to the cubs being hot. you're only as good as your best team in the division. in the past, 85 wins or so has won it. not this year, and a couple of teams are raising the bar. diggin it.

based on what, a high pay roll? that just means they are over paying a bunch of average players

Re: FAO thesightless

a poll at the end of last year among players in the MLB said that the mets were the most hated team in baseball from the players POV of course.

nothing beat the time when the cardinals beat them and were singing the "jose, jose, jose" song in the clubhouse.

and billy wagner is a closet KKK member IMO.

the best part of that series, was beltran standing at the plate with a chance to win, and took a called strike three. dude had been killing us all season, and he got punked.

Re: FAO thesightless

beltran is the most overrated over paid player in the MLB. he is a very good player, but he is in a contract comparable to Arod, and doesnt even play close to that level. he has 5 tools, but none are tops and he got a contract for a single hot streak in the playoffs.

Re: FAO thesightless

^ beltran was an awesome player when he was with the astros. he is overpaid now for sure, but if he continued doing in new york what he did in houston, he deserved a large paycheck. unfortunately like a lot of unproven players, he was offered a huge sum of money too soon in his career and brought only average talent.

sure they have a high pay roll, but i think they just aren't into their team or each other anymore. they have some players that should be a lot better than they currently are, imo. they just aren't producing. which is fine with me since i like the braves. :)

Re: FAO thesightless

yes, if you talk to a mets fan, david wright and jose reyes are top 5- 10 in the NL.

NOT EVEN CLOSE

they are one of only 3 teams not to have a publicly elected all star and the NL coach had to pick billy wagner

Re: FAO thesightless

It makes one wonder if the Mets were doing better if they would actually have a few players in the All Star Game.
