chuckc don't get me wrong the Rays are getting better but when it is all said and done I think they will be 4th just above the Orioles. And I love the Rays for OWNING the Spankees for the last few years.

^^^ i have to disagree with the sox clearly being the best, maybe at fenway they are, on the road they are average at this point in the season. its just nice to actually have a team in tampa that is capable of beating any one on any given night.. even when they are down late in the games you still know they have a chance to come back...

gives me something to watch now between the end of the premier league and the beginning of all the good sports.. college football, premier league, nfl :)

Last year was torture watching the rays. at least so far this year the bullpen has been holding the leads instead of blowing up like they did every time last year.

I love that when the Red Sox play in Tampa they get a louder cheer than the Rays do, it's like a home game for them. I would be surprised if the Rays were in 1st at the end of May.

^^^ not that it means anything but they also had one of the best spring training records in the league as well. so they have been playing solid now for quite a while.

also, our hitting hasnt even heated up yet...if pena ever gets back to normal look out.

to be honest you could see ths coming over the past couple of seasons.. everyone knew all the Rays needed was to sort out their bull pen.. i'd like to know how many games over the past two seasons the rays lost giving up leads going into the 7th inning and on.. now they have a solid starting rotation and one the best if not THE best bull pen era's in the majors.

hitting will come and go, but their pitching and defence i think will always be consistant.

they are winning in every way possible.. blow outs, close games, come from behind, extra innings...

listening to JT the Brick last night was hilarious.. saying there is NO WAY possible the rays can continue compete because they dont spend as much as the yankees, lol.. then goes on to compare how many games back they are as compared to the other last place teams in baseball.. really? its come to this.. arguing the yanks are the best last place team

I'm not a huge baseball fan by any means, but the rays being my local team, this is fun to watch, and hearing all the excuses and disbelief from yankee fan is even more so

I'll admit that I am a Red Sox fan first, but I also love the Rays! I've been watching them for years on FSN faithfully and I am glad they are doing really good! The past years have been a struggle for them but I still watched them.

JT is a douche! Of course the yanks are the best last place team, that's because they are in last place! Nobody else wants to be there! Surely not the Rays...they deserve to be in 1st or 2nd and I would like to see them go all the way. Will that happen? Who knows it's still too early in the season to make that prediction!

i agree mate.. its going to be hard to pursuade people to vote yes on an open air stadium when they cant even get people out to see a first place team in an air conditioned stadium.. and i honestly dont think it will change attendance to be honest.

but thats the way this area is about most stuff, such a "cant be bothered area" for whatever reason even with music events if it isnt the main stream what every one else is into no one can be arsed to go check it out, try something new

but you watch, as soon as they move the team, everyone wil be up in arms about it

don't know what it is about FL. nobody supports their team (minus you two optimistics). building a new stadium is risky because its hard to say if they'd get a return on their investment. look at the marlins... two nat'l championships and they STILL don't bring people out. their stadium is a f'ing dump though. converted POS. although, i remember when the astros had to share a stadium with the oilers and still lots of people always went to games. astrodome = quite fugly.

optomistics? how so... 1/3 of the way thru the season and still in first.. its just fun to watch.. i dont go to the games because i dont want to, no excuses, and if they moved the team, i wouldnt be all that heart broken over it. i much prefer watching most sports either at my gaff or at a pub

I am a baseball fan so i would hate it if the rays left but sure seems like that is waht will happen.
