How Is Your Baseball Team Doing Thus Far?

Braves:

Damnit, 1-3 against shitty teams. Relief has been worked over already. Mike Hampton pulled a neck muscle minutes before he was supposed to make his first appearance in 2+ years. Defense looks AWFUL as usual at the beginning of our season. Not the start I was looking for.....

But I sure am glad baseball season is back. Given people stay healthy, I still like their chances to win the NL.

Took the series off the World Series champs -- and would have swept were it not for the rainout on opening day...

:D

My NL: Dbacks are sucking ass. Young is off to a poor start. Speculation of Randy Johnson sucking ass in the minors and sucking ass in the majors though it'd be nice to see the big unit back in major league action My AL: Angels - I think they'll come out strong this year.

not too sure about the cards...i'm here in the kingdom of bahrain for the past month and a half, for some reason america's past time doesn't catch on all too well in the middle east... although i did see some guys playing cricket the other day...confused the hell outta me..

The orioles are riding a 6 game winning streak and in first place in the AL east. We'll see how long that lasts though.

They've actually gotten off to a pretty good start, primarily because our pitching has been better than expected. If there's one thing Dave Duncan can do, it's get more than anticipated out of a pitching staff. Here's hoping we're somehow able to keep up this pace.

Re: How Is Your Baseball Team Doing Thus Far?

Sox are 4-5 as of this morning.

Everyone looks beat to hell from all the traveling to start the season. Ortiz is batting in the low .000's, Lugo has more errors than hits, and Mike Lowell sprained his thumb ranging for a groundball last night. Our starters are rockstars for 4 innings then implode without warning, our bullpen seems to think they're throwing BP, but the good news is JD Drew is already in midseason form (1-3 with a walk, single and 2 rally-killing GIDP's)

Just a matter of shaking the rust off though, April is a bitch of a month - 19 straight games against playoff contenders - but after the All Star break we have only 5 games on the West coast. I predict a slow start and strong finish.

Boston wins the East and will meet Cleveland in the ALCS for a rematch of last year. You heard it here first.

Re: How Is Your Baseball Team Doing Thus Far?

well, after starting 3-1 the RAYS are back to earth losing 4 straight and putting people on the DL like its their main goal for the season

Re: How Is Your Baseball Team Doing Thus Far?

The Padres are looking at third place at best in the NL West, Diamondbacks and Dodgers have much more going for them.

Re: How Is Your Baseball Team Doing Thus Far?

not MY team persay, im not a fan, i just sort of follow them because they are the local team here in st pete.. the buzz this year has been interesting to listen to.. if they could just beat the rest of the teams they play as often as they handle boston and NY they would probably be above .500, lol

Re: How Is Your Baseball Team Doing Thus Far?

The Dodgers aren't looking too good. That fat ass Andruw Jones is just horrible at the plate! jesus mang, did he forget how to put up a good at bat or what!

Russell Martin is also in a slump. The pitching is average at best. Its good, but they can do so much better.

Besides Loney, Furcal and maybe Kent.. everyone else is soooo mediocre so early in the season. I hope they pick it up.

#1001276Post 18 of 26

Re: How Is Your Baseball Team Doing Thus Far?

lol @ andruw jones. terry pendleton was interviewed about andruw and actually called him out saying he'd be shocked if andruw was worth a damn this season. if mr pendleton can't get him to bat the right way, gonna be hard for anyone else to. i'm so glad the braves got mark kotsay to replace him.

Re: How Is Your Baseball Team Doing Thus Far?

Tell ya, I don't know what's gotten into the Cardinals, but they are figuring out a way to win. I really expected this to be a down year, but here they are, with the best record in baseball...

Re: How Is Your Baseball Team Doing Thus Far?

I've been really trying to ignore baseball because of the nonsense of the off season and just in general the past few years...but...

It's getting warmer outside, i can literally hear the roar of the stadium when my windows are open, people walking around downtown in cards gear, $8 budweiser, fresh cut grass...and the fact that dave duncan once again has pulled a mess of turds out of his ass and shined them up all nice and they're smelling like roses.

Fuck it, I'm in.
