Re: mitchell report

as soon as miguel tejada gets traded to the astros... watch. he'll be on that list. what happens to the players, baseball wise, if they are on it?

astros are making some serious moves in the off season. kaz matsui and tejada now. i'm liking the new GM so far...
no mcgwire?
How complete is this list expected to be? If he's not on the final list, does that suggest that he didn't use steroids, or just that he didn't get them from the people cooperating with this investigation?

It would be great to see his name cleared, so I can bring that McGwire memorabilia out of hiding. Don't see it happening, though...

Re: mitchell report

you know what's really fucked up toasty? channel 2 fox fucking stl took a false report that was made up this morning and leaked that included pujols name and took a team of dumbfuck reporters to pujols restaurant today and started asking people on their way out if they would continue to support pujols, and would continue to eat at his restaurant, based on him being a cheater and a roid user- BEFORE the real list even came out with his name NOT on it.

what a bunch of fucking idiots. if pujols doesn't file a lawsuit, i'll be shocked.

regarding the whole list, and major league baseball in general- i listened to bud selig's press conference and all i don't think i've ever had my intelligence insulted as much as i did to today listening to that piece of crap.

i hope the feds take over, come in, and clean house. i knew what the report was going to say, but i'm shocked (but not surprised) at the weak ass response by mlb.

go fuck yourself baseball.

You know what else? I've actually seen stories about how there were earlier stories on the news that falsely named players who were not actually on the list, and those stories don't mention Pujols. Pretty lame, IMO. If you're going to call someone out like that and then you find out you're wrong, you are obligated to make it right.

Didn't see Selig's comments. Can you give me the Cliff's Notes version?

#947457Post 14 of 39

Re: mitchell report

i could give you the cliff's notes to his speech, but i'd rather you watch it somehow on tv tonight, or find it on youtube, or the internet or something and know this:

 1. bud selig is an owner
 2. bud selig is the commissioner of baseball, he turned his head as much as everyone involved has. he's in on it too.

then listen to him talk about the good of the game, and how he's going to do something, how he spearheaded this whole thing (which is bullshit, mitchell had no cooperation from mlb) and blah blah fucking blah. and he's really not going to do ANYTHING. it was the biggest whitewash i've ever heard. what a jerkoff. he's going to "ask donald pher to help him" - YOU'RE THE COMMISSIONER OF BASEBALL YOU PUSSY, WITH A REPORT LIKE THIS, YOU DON'T ASK SHIT, YOU TELL.

Guy needs to lose his job effective immediately. Nowhere in our society could you be the head of an organization, have a scandal like this blow up on your watch, and you be on the take the entire time, and not lose your job. He won't tho, because he's in with the rest of the owners.

Today is really fucking annoying for people who really love baseball. And again, it's not that we didn't know there were juicers in the game, it's the response from mlb when the smoking gun is laid i your lap.

BASEBALL...here it comes...two short jokes and one long one...

joke, joke, joooooooooooooke!!!

Re: mitchell report

pettitte is a class act, i don't care what anyone says. he'll still always be one of my favorite players. at least he owned up. i'm anxious to see how some of the other players respond.

#951207Post 24 of 39

Re: mitchell report

I don't know why but I believe Pettitte when he addressed the press on Friday. I think he said he used HGH either 2 times or for 2 days after he had elbow surgery because he was told it would help him recover faster. In his case I wouldn't consider him as a "juicer" like Clemens and the rest. As far as Matt Williams goes I was kind of shocked as well but to go back and look at him it's obvious as hell. Has anyone seen Brady Anderson on any list? I don't recall what year it was that he hit 50 something HR's and was for a short time leading the AL too. I just cant believe that it has taken this long for somebody to finally put these fuckers names out for everyone to see. MLB is just killing themselves every second that goes by without doing anything. I agree.....FUCK YOU MLB!!!!

#951371Post 25 of 39

Re: mitchell report

Pettite is no better than Bonds. And i don't believe he only used it "2 times."

#951478Post 26 of 39

Re: mitchell report

it seems to be becoming a trend to claim you used it once or twice. big fucking surprise that this would happen.

and for all you people that say fuck MLB... this drug is used in almost every single sport at almost every single level of play (minus badmitton maybe?). yeah, fuck mlb, but don't single them out. hgh is a problem that has only been brought to light by the mlb (after years of pressure) and not yet in other sports. the scrutiny with hgh will slowly work its way through every sport eventually. ahem, nfl nfl nfl.

Re: mitchell report
Pettite is no better than Bonds. And i don't believe he only used it "2 times."
bonds is a renowned asshole and a fucking crybaby. its a joke to compare he and bonds. as far as pettitte only using hgh twice, the more i think about it, the more i think you're right... unfortunately. i still hold him in higher regards than bonds though.

#951550Post 28 of 39

Re: mitchell report

re: don't single hgh in baseball out- yes there definitely is a double standard. but i don't care if football players get all freakishly big and smash each others heads in, because that's what football is about. baseball is a game about numbers. baseball is unlike any other sport because baseball is way more historical in nature. since it began kids, parents, people, other atheletes compare numbers of eras and numbers between teams, leagues, players, years, etc. it's history. it matters. records in baseball are different than records in the nfl or the nba or the nhl.

Re: mitchell report
bonds is a renowned asshole and a fucking crybaby. its a joke to compare he and bonds. .
you're comparing two different things. you don't like bonds, therefore pettite is better than bonds. i don't give a shit who you like better, they both did the same thing. you're talking about a double standard with hgh in baseball and other sports, but you're creating a double standard here by putting one player (cheater) over another player (cheater) just because you like one over the other. They're both the same. If we're going to be honest and fair now, then let's be fair. A cheater is a cheater. Petitte is a big fking joke to me based on what he said: only used it "twice" RIIIIGHT!!! he's turning it around now making it sound like he was a team player- just trying to get back to health to help his team. BULLSHIT. He took an advantage just like Bonds did. So sick of everyone giving Petitte a break and believing his shit story like he's some kind of good person now.

i just want one person to sack up for it and tell it like it is- "yeah, i saw an advantage, i took it, i made a mistake, i'm sorry." End of story. we're a pretty forgiving society, just own up to it. all this "i only took it once" or "i only took it here or there" ...excuses excuses excuses. the coverup is gross.

#951564Post 30 of 39

Re: mitchell report

well i may have misinterpretted what you meant... as far as hgh goes, i'll put pettitte in the same category, i agree with you. once a user, always a user. as far as everything else, i disliked bonds before this as did many others. he is a greedy little prick and not a good teammate i have read/witnessed. as far as wanting someone to come out and tell the truth, i thought jose canseco did a pretty good job of that. besides the ulterior motives he may have had, he told it how it is.

did you catch the espn article by jemele hill? first off, if you read her articles she comes off as a bigot and she tends to ramble a lot. great at stirring controversy where there should be no controversy. BUT, she really made me think in this article. she has some great points: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=hill/071217&sportCat=mlb&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab8pos1

if you're not guilty, the day someone says something about you, you get in front of cameras, come out swinging, and then maybe i would have given him the benefit of doubt. waiting a week, being silent, then sending a message via your lawyer and agent- you're guilty son. gfys.

Rodney Harrison of the Patriots was suspened I think 8 games this season for testing positive for using hgh.also Shawn Merriman was suspend 6 games last year for roid use..so it is being looked at in the nfl..just needs to be taken a stronger look at.
