Great season so far - anyone else keeping up with it?

Think Hamilton can hang on for the championship as a rookie?

Re: F1 Fans?

YUP!, i know some people here don't consider racing a sport.

Saw Hamilton win the USGP. I think he'll definitely hang on for the championship! Have you been to any of the events this year?

Re: F1 Fans?

The season as been ok, compared to previous few years.

McLaren need to sort their shit out with their drivers - no one likes a sore loser - Alonso should be told that.

Ferrari should get rid of that Fin, elevate Massa to number 1 status within the team and pair him with one of the newer drivers - Rosberg would be good.

Hopefully Toyota will get rid of their German for next year and pair Trulli with a driver with less of an ego and more on track ability.

Super Aguri have been a breath of fresh air this year - whilst the Honda team has been nothing but a disappointment; I feel sorry both Button and Barricello - but now that they have sorted out their wind tunnel problems, hopefully we can see a return to the form of last season for them.

Red Bull finally look to be getting somewhere with the Newry designed car, whilst their B team continues to be plagued by problems.

I've already written of the rest of the season - I hope when push comes to shove its either Massa or Hamilton, but I'm already looking forward to 2008.

Re: F1 Fans?

for being in the states, im a huge F1 fan, my roomie raced for renault as a US tester.(dan Badia)

the big thing about this is this... will the spy row and the new evidence that seems to be damming mclaren, cost them the trophy? they might be docked points and massa/kimi can take over.

also, nice showing by heidfeild this year. the BMW is getting better by the week.

Re: F1 Fans?

holy shit. The McLaren team was fined $100 million and stripped of its points in the constructors' standings for 2007 and possibly for all of 2008. http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/news/story?seriesId=6&id=3017450

Nonsense it just shows you the FIA is an incompetant organisation that favors one specific team above all others.

Whilst i personally believe this has all be a stitch up from the start - even if the case had merit - how the fuck can you exclude a team whilst allowing its drivers to continue in the championship?

Max Mosley and his little Ferrari henchmen on the FIA have discredited the sport in ways it will be hard to return from.

Re: F1 Fans?

This season has definitely been the most interesting compared to recent years. I think Massa is someone who has been overlooked this year. While he doesn't have a chance to win the championship this season, I think in the following years he'll step up to the plate.

I'm waiting for some of the other teams with big budgets to really come through though. Toyota are dead - but shouldn't be. And same with Red Bull and Williams. But I'm glad to see Sauber finally become a challenging team. Go Sauber!

Re: F1 Fans?

i agree. massa will be one to follow for awhile. he improves every race, dominates the faster tracks, and shows he can improve on the slower ones.

Re: F1 Fans?

so glad hamilton finally didn't finish a race. you gotta love when three drivers are still in it in the last race. hamilton will probably still take it though. they need to go back to the old points system, not this 10, 8, ... garbage. shumacher is gone, so change the rules back now.
