the medics said later that he colapse because of a heart attack, and that minutes later he suffered another one in the dressing room and collapsed again medics also say he suffered some brain damage:|

wow, that's just messed up. goes to show you that you can be in perfect condition and still fall to a heart attack. sad indeed.

to make matters worse,hes girlfriend is suposed to give birth in 6 weeks
im just wondering what might have cause the heart failure

my godmother just passed away in a similar fashion about 4 months ago. i've never met a more fit and health-conscious woman. she got hit in the chest with a tennis ball, not hard. 10 minutes later she collapsed of a heart attack... her heart went into arythemia. lots of people have 'nodes' in their heart/arteries that block the blood flow and the heart tries to recover, especially when hit in the chest and then send the person into heart failure/arythemia. i am guessing that this was a similar situation although i really have no clue. a lot of times these nodes aren't even recognized until a problem like this happens, sometimes its too late. very sad.

It's a tragedy for football, his familly and Sevilla :( Antonio Puerta was a good young football player and a great talent as well.

It's very sad indeed...but it's very likely that he wasn't in perfect condition. He probably had a genetic heart defect and never knew it. This is not the first time this has happened to a young, seemingly healthy athelete and it's a well known phenomenon in the medical world.
