This story is noteworthy only for how little I care about it. Is there anyone on this planet that still gives a rat's ass about heavyweight boxing?

Re: Holyfield to fight for WBO

Elegance, technique, discipline, power of the will and brute force. Do you know a heavy weight can punch up to 1.000 psi? With a hook to the jaw that's enough to rip your artery. Badass :D

And hell, maybe I like watching it cuz apart from thai boxing, I sometimes practice English boxing too ;)

Re: Holyfield to fight for WBO

you do realize that heavyweight boxing is a big joke right? that it's corrupt more than cycling, fights are fixed, judges are paidoff, and don king single handedly ruined the sport, right?

thai kickboxing i enjoy watching. i can even get into some of that mma stuff. and the lower weight classes, yeah, i dig some of that as long as it's a big fight. heavyweight boxing tho, pfft. the fact that evander has a shot at any title right now should tell you something about the state of the sport. fucking joke.

ding ding ding ding!!!

That's exactly it, 100%. The only difference between heavyweight (emphasis on heavyweight) boxing and professional wrestling is that the wrestlers are in on the joke. I'm not positive that the boxers are always aware that the fix is in.

One notable exception would be Bruce Seldon, who took an obvious dive to Tyson on a phantom punch to lose the WBA title. They showed that replay over and over again, and I never saw any contact.

The sport has become a mockery of its former self.

Yeah I do know, but I'm not watching that Vegas spectacle kinda shit. More the local stuff y'know.
