Well...starts this week. Damn long season. This year marks the beginning of the Fedex Cup. A lot of hype going into this with the Golf Channel covering more events than any other network. I'm a fan but I can't see how this fedex cup thing is going to up viewership. You eighter like it or don't.

i watched the opening round of the mercedes benz tourney last night... their coverage was alright, but a bit cheesy. you could tell all the announcers were really hyped up. i think nick faldo was drunk as hell though. on another note, holy shit was there a lot of wind there! guys were aiming off the greens to the right and their balls would land left of the pin! incredibly interesting to watch, beautiful scenery.
PS - the PGA season lasts way too long. anyone that doesn't agree with players missing tournaments here and there should take a very long look at how hard these guys work.

I went to the US Seniors Open at Bellerive a couple of years ago, and they're actually right out there on the course. It's so quiet at those tournaments, someone speaking at normal volume would really stand out.

poor phil... he blew it again. given nothing is easy in golf, he certainly lost his 'feel' starting at the 18th and carried that uncertainty throughout the playoff. too bad, but i'm happy for charles. he looked like he was about to cry he was so happy, so good for him. that shot off the cart path was crazy even though it hit the tree branch. i enjoyed watching them go head to head for three or four extra holes.
