for the fans like me. those who follow thier team on a regualr basis, and watch it daily.

lets avoid a dozen different threads from ehre on out and get this moving like me, jenks, kobe and toasty had for baseball.

go suns. fuck kobe. the knicks suck, and ray allen is stuck in hell.

Re: NBA thread

   Why does everyone hate Kobe?

Is it becuase he raped a white girl and he's "black"?

Is it because he's a "hotdogger"? He did show teamplay potential during the postseason vs the Suns. So he can play the leader and assist team play roll.

Is it because he's not on your team?lol, that's a dumb question, better -> Would you still hate him if he was?

I know I would fucking hate and boooo Barrioids if he were to ever be a Dodger! But that's mainly because of the historic rivalry.

Kobe's just a badass, Im not all up in his ass though, that's for sure. I think he's matureing now and it'll show this season and really think itll show more more in the future. Im just glad he's in the Lakers org.

Re: NBA thread

he needs to drop the f'n attitude of his ... have you forgotten what he did to the lakers 3 years ago? he thinks he can win everything just by himself .. yes he scores a lot of points and has crazy atatistics but that alone dosent win championships .. i dont think ill ever consider him one of the greatest players

GO MAGIC!!!!

Dwight Howard is a f*ckling stud and now that he has some guards that can shoot the lights out in Jameer Nelson and J.J. Redick the double and triple teaming him will leave these guys wide open for the three ball. Don't forget about Turkoglu(6-10 and can also shoot pretty damn good).Should be a fun and interesting season season in O-town. I would be happy with just making the playoffs and I would be exstatic if Grant Hill plays more than 20 games this year. They started off with a 15 point win over Chicago who is considered by many to be one of the teams to beat in the East.

Re: NBA thread

tmac= most over rated player since shawn kemp. honestly, what has he done? his counsin too. they both claim to be top 10 players, and they were together and didnt go shit, and tmac hasnt done a lick with yao ming, a really good, not great, 7 foot center with a hall of fame coach as well....

The New York Knicks entire organization is a complete joke. They have got to be the laughing stock of professional sports. There is/was some descent talent on that team and they haven't done sh*t!!!!! If I was the owner of that team I would start with a clean board and just clean house from the top all the way down to the bottom. It is going to be bad there for a long time too if they keep trading away their draft picks. Good luck turning around that franchise.

Re: NBA thread

new york prays for the return of jeff van gundy as an executive.

Re: NBA thread

^^^^ of course I know you are a Suns fan but living in NYC are you at all a Knicks fan? Back in the Ewing, Oakley, Mark Jackson, Mason and Starks days? Myself, I can't f*cking stand the Knicks or anything associated with them. The only players that have been in that organization that I like or have liked are Alan Houston and Steve Frances. I know he is a prick and hard to play with but I love how hard he competes and when he is on, he is almost unstoppable. Frances, IMO is just one of those guys who is fun to watch.

Re: NBA thread

i never liked the knicks, my sister is an amazing basketball player, she played shooting guard for boston college. and when we were young she was a knicks fan. i upon seeing barkley and marleje, became a suns fan. i admire those old knicks, especially charles oakley and starks, as they might be the two toughest players i have ever seen, but i never was a fan.

#747473Post 18 of 51

Re: NBA thread

what a rooster that was .. starks, derek harper, oakley, ewing, i trully enjoyed beating the hell out of miami have to agree .. right now they are worthless .

#747502Post 19 of 51

Re: NBA thread

dont forget that larry johnson slid in on that team. they were a nasty front court when it ewing mason and LJ together.

but steve nash is god. he is doing things that only jordan did. the big 3 names all have simliar numbers to him, but they beat him in rebounds, but he ices them in assists and steals.

#747515Post 20 of 51
steve nash is god. he is doing things that only jordan did.
except win championships...

#747521Post 21 of 51

Re: NBA thread

well, having only 3-4 starters hurts you in the conference finals. ew should rip it up this year if amare gets going. shit we took both conference finals 7 games with 4 starters and last year, with tim thomas and boris diaw at center and small forward.

#747530Post 22 of 51

Re: NBA thread

^^ you know i'm playing....;). I'm a big steve nash fan... especially because the boy can skate... but as far as career stats go he's nearly 2 steals per game lower than MJ (actually nash has only averaged 1 steal per game 3 times in his career and last year averaged 0.5), has nearly no blocked shots, is 4 rebounds behind, lags in minutes, is close to 17 points per game etc etc.... he's a better all around shooter and dishes the ball far better but that wasn't really MJ's job now was it?

#747632Post 23 of 51

Re: NBA thread

actually that is a major part of MJ becoming what he was. tenacious defense and the ability to find the open man when he had to. he made kukock, paxon, horace grant, dont forget oakley started there b4 knicks, steve kerr, longley, brent barry, etc.

the only guy who made jordan better on the flip side of things was the arrival of dennis rodman.

Re: NBA thread

One of my favorite plays/dunks ever was when John starks turned baseline and dunked on just about the whole Chicago Bulls teams in the Eastern Conference Finals. I think the main reason I hate the Knicks is that stupid ass mofo that sits on the sidelines talking shit and making himself look like an idiot Spike Lee. God I wish somebody would dive into the stands for a loose ball and just take his ass out!!!!!

#747751Post 25 of 51

Re: NBA thread

maybe when he was younger, but spike is up in age now, an athlete hitting into him might kill him.

darn!!!!! no i'm j/k but he just gets on my nerves

Re: NBA thread

how do you feel about the no complaints rule ? it sux .. its taken the passion away from the game .. what are the players suposse to do??

#748349Post 29 of 51

Re: NBA thread

Yeah, I dont like it either. They're only human and we ALL have emotions especially in Sports! ...and when a game is on the line or just loving what you do plain and simple.

A player gets a weak foul or may just be mad at themselves, blurt out a reaction and BAM!

weak.

I think the Refs probably complained about all the complaints they get on every call

Re: NBA thread

i hope kobe could dunk over nash, he has about 6-7 inches onthe guy.

but did you forget about this...

Re: NBA thread

^ no, but that has nothing to do with the actual game.

That's just a fool who cant handle a great player, doesnt know when he's beat and its basically the pussy way out...if you cant beat them with skill, hit em'

#748393Post 32 of 51

Re: NBA thread

but we beat you with boris diaw and tim thomas. sorry but you need a check there.

boris diaw and tim thomas...... ouch.

guess what. amare is back this year. i cant wait to see who guards him as opposed to marion. cuz that series is gonna have a big man go off.

#748409Post 33 of 51

Re: NBA thread

? Did I say we won or something? Yes we lost, vs whomever you mentioned.

My reply was on the pic you posted and on the fool who did it and the possibility why it was done....because he cant handle Kobe.

The pic itself (the foul) has nothing to do with the game of basketball. The dunk on Nash however is basketball and yes Nash is smaller than Kobe.

The Suns arent' starting out great this season but Im sure it has something to do with the new players on the floor, they'll pick it up and become the trheat they were last season no doubt.

I just hope the Lakers continue what they're doing. Kobe still isn't 100% and Kwame & Chirs are still out. Big plus though, Bynum is gonna be the next Shaq in the years to come! so we better not trade his big ass.

Re: NBA thread

he deserves all the crap he gets

#748435Post 35 of 51

Re: NBA thread

lol, no he doesnt. maybe some things but certainly not that. Ya'll are just (hate to say it) player haters. Dude, regardless of the so called hot doggin' and shit, he's a great athlete period.

A lot of people I know fuckig hate Derek Jeter, talk mad shi, etc. Why? because he's from the Yankess and he's a bad ass. Plain and simple. Different sport, you cant necessarily "hot dog" in baseball but ya know what I mean.

I really believe that this season he's gonna be a bit different. He showed it in the post season series vs the Suns.

And then on the last game; 4th qtr when he didnt' do the things he "normally" does, yet again people criticised him for not taking his "hotdoggness" to try and win the game.

He cant win either way.

Re: NBA thread

no. kobe is a scumbag, rapist, and general all around bad guy... he deserves every critique he gets. he destroyed what should have been the second most dominant team franchise behind those celtics of yesteryear.

#748520Post 37 of 51

Re: NBA thread

i tell ya, and it stems from watching him right now, i forgot completely about brent barry. i love this guy, his play, his attitude, the clutch factor. .. dude, he is so underappreciated. he was part of the second bulls run... and is still playing in playoffs every year...

#748540Post 38 of 51

Re: NBA thread

anyone watching this game right now. suns/spurs

great game, close going to the fourth

amare impressive but in foul trouble. marion too. matrix has 13 rebounds in three quarters.

EDIT

wow, 4th quarter just ended with raja bell hitting one of two free throws to tie it up with 1.5 left, in bounds, duncan missed a hail mary. OVERTIME IN SAN ANTONIO>
