Joe Girardi is going to the Cubs! They contacted him within the hour after he was fired from the Marlins. Not to mention he played for them thru some of their "good" years if thats what you call the days of Dawson, Sandberg, Dunston., Grace and Maddox

pineilla said on sportscenter last night that he had not heard anything from the yankees organization, no phone calls, nothing. i'm sure there is some truth that torre could be fired because i know stenbrenner wants to fire him, but who knows what the real story is. i'm sure we'll see several stories before the real story reveals itself.

all these reports are from one guy from the ZNY daily news who on ESPN on saturdaynight at 1 am and said it. so ill let it happen. girardi would be the better hire IMO. has a LOT more hunger and dont give a damn bout ego.

it'd be sad if torre goes, i kinda like his style. but george has been iching for pinniela for a while now. another thing is that george is old, he might have other problems right now. he couldn't even address the media himself after the loss
