Yes.
- the NL is weak, and they've got enough decent talent, and a couple superstars, to carry them that far.
- the central - The Reds just can't help their own cause. They moved into a virtual tie with stl last week, and now they're 3.5 back again. They've got the same problem the cards do, inconsistency, but thankfully, they lose when we win, and it's been like that all year (which is why we can go on 8 game losing streaks and stay in first place)
- the return of chris carpenter is not only a big boost to that line up (his stuff is sick) but it's also a boost to the rest of the pitching squad. Seems like everyone pitches better when Carpenter is on his game- case in point- Jeff Suppan the other night.
Watching the Marlins/Cards game right now...
3-1 marlins in the 2nd...but Mulder is on the hill, and so far, he might as well still be injured cuz he doesn't have it back.

marlins are on fire the past two weeks.... cards still win the central on talent/experience alone and the reds can't sustain any momentum.... wildcard is a fucking toss up mess. still pulling for my redlegs but jesus there's like 7 or 8 teams that could win the damn thing with any kind of big run (like the marlins now).
