It seems to be wide open imo. A lot of sports writers are picking Notre Dame or Ohio State as the favorites this year.

What are the ms'rs 2006 predictions.

Being a fellow UofM alum, I hear you on this. I think they only have minimal hope of beating notre dame and ohio state. However, a two loss season, well, three, becuase they are bound to get beat in the bowl game again, would still be an improvement. That being said, I still support Loyd Carr to the Fullest.

My top 5 now, 8 hours before kickoff.

  1. Ohio State
  2. Notre Dame
  3. Texas
  4. USC
  5. West Virginai.

I so seriously so fucking pumped for the start of the season. College football is my other major passion in life (trivial I know, but I friggen love it) and I am like a kid in a candy store right now

Except for those 10 odd years when Bod Davies and Ty Willingham were at the helm. Other than that that though, typically they are one of the top contenders at the start of the season and deserver to be among the leading choices.

Ditto, absolutely a first class individual. I agree with your top 5... OSU is loaded on offense but has to address some defensive issues, and as much as it pains me to say it, Notre Dame should be pretty damn good... God knows Charlie can coach (they still have the most self righteous fans on earth though). Driving up to Ann Arbor tomorrow (5am) for the Vandy game... Go Blue!

Yeah, I love notre dame and am one of the pretentous fans Geoff was talking about, but I had GT picked as my super sonic upset special. Good thing I was wrong.

Wow, that Miam FSU game sure was boring. I'm pissed I stayed up to watch it, but it was kinda nice being able to watch it on my laptop as I don't have cable.

But F-ing ell, gonna be a good weekend to be a college football fan. ND vs. PSU. OSU vs. Texas!

bwahahahhahahhaaahhhahaa... 47-21. ^^tough one for irish fans to swallow. trust me, i've been there the last 5 years. pretty sure nd bounces back to kick that 'other' michigan school in the ass next week.

damn it's nice to be back in the thick of things.... hopefully no letdown next week for the maize and blue against bucky badger badger badger badger.......

Re: 2006 College Football Predictions

Being a UofM alum, I'm glad ND lost to them and not someone else. That win is HUGE for the program. Not so much to save Lloyd's job, but rather in terms of recruiting. Michigan might have startred to slip as a preimere school in the eyes of youngsters had they not pulled that win off. I hope michigan now runs the tables.

:D

doesn't surprise me at all. the media will always be notre dame's bitch. and did michigan hand out blue cool-aid? that dude's mouth is blue as hell hehe.

lsu vs auburn game = possible best game of the season. two huge teams that proved they were worthy of being national title contenders. there were no mistakes, only tough defense and bad calls. i do think lsu got fucked on several calls that may have changed the outcome, but auburn deserved to win just as much as lsu did. i loved every bit of it.

Do you guys really think Florida is a top 5 team? They only squeaked by Tennessee

Re: 2006 College Football Predictions

i think tennessee is legit, though. they beat cal and tested florida. i don't think florida is a top 5 team, though... time will determine that. they just haven't had a real test yet. i don't like either school, but i like georgia's chances over florida's going to jacksonville this year.

Re: 2006 College Football Predictions

People say the irish are over rated, which they may be, but now for the 5th week in a row they will be playing an undefeated team (purdue). Can any other team say that?

Re: 2006 College Football Predictions

Re: 2006 College Football Predictions

Well, I don't get to see many west coast games here in Philly, but from the highlights I have seen, they seem to be recovering nicely from their early season trouncing.
