Re: Tour De France 2006

Hey Domi, long time no see :)

To be honest, even though Tom Boonen is world champion, cycling isn't my cup of tea. I already gave it a few tries, but there's too little action imo...

Good thing that Armstrong isn't riding anymore. Makes it a tad less boring.

i wish lance was still beating the french at their bicycle race. :p

Re: Tour De France 2006

Some people like to watch cycling others don't :) I watch the tour every year since 1991, the year Indurain won his first of five... I'm addicted to the 'action' in the tour but I can understand it's sometimes boring to see a flat stage if you're not an addict like me :-)
i wish lance was still beating the french at their bicycle race. :p
No offence Jenks, but that was a pretty crappy statement. The Tour isn't an inter country competition and even if it was, the French haven't had a Tour winner in 21 years...

Im sure it's early in the stages, give the french time, they eventually lose at everything. ;)

Our Jan Ullrich from Germany probably will win the trophy "most drugs eaten to become the best". Damn cheaters.

I don?t give a shit about cycling, but I miss the roads of France, that?s why I watch it whenever possible.

Re: Tour De France 2006

Been a fan of the race and the sport as well since '85. Glad to see Lance out of it. Too much about one person in a great sport. Yeah, yeah. Shut up about it. I miss the competitions but still watch it on tv. I was laughing pretty hard when I heard about the eleven guys that were banned prior to the race start. Who's gonna win it? The dude with the boils on his ass.

Re: Tour De France 2006

Have you been seeing the coverage on the race this year? It's fucking hilarious how idiotic the local (USA) press is about this whole thing. It's like the sports reporters have never really followed the race at all. "Oh he's way out, so much for his chances now." :roflmao: Fucking idiots.

Re: Tour De France 2006
The Phonak team has confirmed the speculation that Floyd Landis returned a positive A sample after his win in stage 17 of the Tour de France. "The Phonak Cycling Team was notified yesterday by the UCI about an unusual level of Testosterone/Epitestosterone ratio in the test made on Floyd Landis after stage 17 of the Tour de France," said the team in a statement. "The team management and the rider were both totally surprised of this physiological result.

"The rider will ask in the upcoming days for the counter analysis to prove either that this result is coming from a natural process or that this is resulting from a mistake in the confirmation. In application of the Pro Tour Ethical Code, the rider will not race anymore until this problem is totally clear.

"If the result of the B sample analysis confirms the result of the A sample, the rider will be dismissed and will then pass the corresponding endocrinological examinations."
..

guilty until proven innocent, huh? what a great philosophy....

the same thing happened to lance... i expect it to happen to more in the future. though it looks grim, give the guy the benefit of the doubt until all the results are in.

Re: Tour De France 2006

both are roiders imo

#680909Post 22 of 40

Re: Tour De France 2006

^^ this has nothing to do with roids.... and it wasn't a "positive" test, it was an "abnormal testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio".

Floyds testosterone levels were that of a normal person but for some reason his epitestosterone were way below normal. You don't dope with epitestosterone. UCI allows for a 4 to 1 ratio with testosterone being the bigger number fo the two. His ratio was 11 to 1!! I hope the B sample comes back non-negative, but for some reason it doesn't, I won't be surprise either. After thinking that Tyler Hamilton couldn't be found guilty of dope and was, I won't be surprise again. According to the Tour de France there was only on positive and that was Floyd. These cyclist are smart and know what they can get away with, but this one doesn't make sense to me.

...and that's the thing, it makes absolutely no sense to me either. Of course neither does going out the night before and drinking Jack Daniels before the last major mountain stage.

Re: Tour De France 2006

LOL!!! homeboy got caught, he should have brought some of that stuff at the local french headshop that cleanses your system, since hes so sweet at cycling he could have biked there and biked to his #1 spot again.

Anyway, back on topic:

The go for testing Landis' B sample has been given. Meanwhile a source within the UCI confirmed that it was synthetic testosterone which has been found in the first sample.

Re: Tour De France 2006

so i guess he's guilty, but i'm still not 100% convinced he is guilty. does anyone think that there are tons of other reasons that could account for "off levels"? i bet there are lots that scientists haven't discivered all the possibilities for having abnormal levels.ultimately, drugs and drug testing will scar an innocent athlete's career. drugs in sports are tarnishing my credibility in every way.... very sad.

Anybody who is in connection with this sport says that, all of them use drugs. Somebody get busted, others not..
