Not sure if many of you are in the same boat as me, but I have to work while the games are on and will watch them when I get home. Is there any etiquette here on not posting any of the scores until the next day? Or keeping the results out of the general thread area and keeping them in the sports section? Its more fun watching the games when you don’t know who is going to win.

Re: World Cup posting of scores

Everything sports related will be posted here or moved to if needed but telling people not to post results will not work. When people watch a Game they will post about it so you better stay away from the Sports Forum for the next weeks as long as you did not watch the Games by yourself. ;)

Re: World Cup posting of scores

LOL, know you know how I feel checking the Movies Forum. Americans see the cool series at least one Year in advance compared to us and while you guys talk about Season 5 of "24" or the 2nd season of "Lost" we still wait for them to be released here. It is always hard to stay out of these threads because I am curious as fuck to see how the plots continue but I don't want to have important infos spoiled so I avoid reading them at all.

Re: World Cup posting of scores

^^^^ I know what you mean. Its just hard to watch a game when you already know the outcome. The excitement is not the same.

For example, back in 90' when Ricon from Colombia scored in the 48th minute to tie Germany in order to qualify for the 2nd round was exciting to watch live. I wouldn't have been the same if I already knew what happened,

At least where you are, the entire country shuts down for the games. Here, it is work, work, and more fuckn work.

Re: World Cup posting of scores

I suggest we just leave discussion of games in threads titled: a vs. b so you don't know the scores if you don't want to read it.

I also suggest you start taking days off to watch matches...that's what I'll be doing. ;)

Re: World Cup posting of scores

the best info I've seen so far is on www.soccernet.com 's gamecast. They have pretty good graphics that really show you what's going on and live commentary without the saucy comments of the guardian's play by play people.
