funniest thing i have read all day. hey im not a damon fan yet, he has to earn that., but you boston ppl were combing the hair for him last year yelling """OH JOHNNY CAN I GET A LOCK PLEEAAASSSEEE????? calling him the best leadoff hitter in baseball and now he is shit. you ppl are worse than mets fans. crisp isnt nearly the player damon is. what happens when el gordo ape-O AKA fat popi or whatever the fuck you ppl call that half human half gorilla looking ogre called ortiz leaves for another team? will he be a bad player too>? dont get me wrong, ortiz is insane when it comes to clutch hits and playoff power and abilty, but you ppl always give the nomar treament to those who arent in BOSOX uni's/

Re: BSully, Buckman, Jaime, etc..

I'm not one of those sox fans that has done a 180 on damon since he left. He was great when he was here and I wish him all the (injury-prone) best in NY. But you've picked up a proven winner on the way down while we just inked a nasty young Coco Crisp through 2009.

You can keep Slingblade and whatever gas he has left in the tank, Crisp will be tracking down fly balls in Fenway for years to come.

Re: BSully, Buckman, Jaime, etc..

im not one of those typical sox fans either.I liked the guy.but when he got to New york and started talking all this smack about Boston really soured my feeling towrds the guy.Yes he was great when he was here helped the sox with the world series win.in typical ny fashion steinbrenner overpaid for an over the hill superstar.Good luck with that one

Re: BSully, Buckman, Jaime, etc..

ummm, Ortiz just signed through 2010...so he's not going anywhere

and us Boston fans love the players, then hate them when they leave

Re: BSully, Buckman, Jaime, etc..

Personally, I loved Damon when he was here however what soured me to him was when, only an hour after the loss to the Chi-Sox, he started talking about MONEY and his contract that is coming up. Then he talks (in between the um-uh, well, uh's) about how great it is to be in NY when he just joined the team. I hope his decrepid arm falls off!
oh yeah, soccer players are real tough guys.........

ow he slid into me.
yet for some reason, soccer has more injuries than any sport...must be a real wimp sport. I'd like to see you run your ass out for even twenty minutes...let alone two 45 minutes halves. Don't forget all American sports have breaks (and many of em) during the games.
you ppl are worse than mets fans.
:lickmyha:

and just because it's you, I gotta add a :Gotcha: ;)

Re: BSully, Buckman, Jaime, etc..

ben just admit it, mets fans are the most over reactive fans on the planet.

 1. they said al leiter was a great pitcher.
 2. when you guys signed beltran, they all thought you were getting the re incarnation of mickey mantle.
 3. when piazza was having trouble early on , you wanted him out of town.
 4. you think you will win the NL banner this year over the cards.........
 5. they somehow, every year, say the yanks suck and the mets will be better.....

I hear everything you're saying and for some reason (perhaps through true yankee supershit ego), you seem to miss the fact that Yankees fans are much worse...seriously if a player has one bad day the fans start booing him.
5. they somehow, every year, say the yanks suck and the mets will be better.....
First of all, I'm not a shit-talking fan (as most yanks fans tend to be :p ). I will grant you historically the Yanks have been a better team (mostly because they've been better financed and the Mets have had to play catchup with that Yankees history and mystique for the last 40 years, but it's always been cyclical. Also let's remember how much of a godsend free agency and similar changes in baseball rules that benefit rich teams have helped the Yanks get their "dynasty".

And historically, hell how bad were the late 80s/early 90s Yanks, or even the late 60s/early 70s, as compared to the Mets of the same time. We'll be back in full force and you guys will be scraping the bottom again...then we'll see how you're feeling.

Re: BSully, Buckman, Jaime, etc..

from 81-91 the yanks won more games than any other team in the majors.... just never made first place.

Re: BSully, Buckman, Jaime, etc..

#609175Post 19 of 20

Re: BSully, Buckman, Jaime, etc..

is that what it takes for you to watch em play?

#609179Post 20 of 20

Re: BSully, Buckman, Jaime, etc..

no, seriously, all my life i have gone to mets games as well as yanks. i honestly like baseball that much, also helps my uncle jim is the cheif engineer of shea stadium. also, its an easy LIRR ride for me. shea is a good time and you can smoke in the staium unlike yankee stadium

i would love a subway series world series every year. it gives juice to the fan base here.
