Hey at least they got Cabrera & Mientkiewicz in return!! Cabrera is making $6,000,000 this year to hit .246 and Mientkiewicz is making $2,800,000 for .246 as well. At least they have a combined 9 HRs!!!

the dodgers traded minor leaguers for steve finley. didn't get randy johnson. they also traded away about a fifth of their team since friday.

pfft, bring em on, we've murdered Prior this year.

The Cubs, are not going to win shit this year, and yay, because Dusty Baker is an asshole. With all the talent they have, i'm glad they're just sub par, and it reflects Dusty Crusty Seedy Baking Baker.

Cards v. Yanks. :RockOn:

Re:: NOMAR TO CUBS

Thank god my Twins got rid of Dougie Baseball. I wish him the best in Boston, but he has stunk it up at the plate all year long. Our new first baseman Justin Morneau will hopefully put us over the top in the AL. The Twins beat the Red Sox two games to one over the weekend! Oh, why did the BoSox get rid of Nomar? Was't he thought of as one of the best players in baseball the last couple of years?

#231333Post 17 of 69

nomar hated the management in boston. he didn't want to be there anymore and the players didn't want him there any more. he'll play well with the cubs.

the dodgers fucked themselves HARD... they might as well give the pennant to another team. they traded some of their solid players for a hopeful pitcher and an AA pitcher in hopes of getting johnson. the only problem is, they didn't get johnson, hahahaha...... big mistake on LAs behalf.

Re:: NOMAR TO CUBS

It's been reported here that the Yankees wilt to get ace pitcher Kevin Millwood from the Phillies and Larry walker from the Rockies.

Just give us the Damn World Series Trophy :wink:

trade deadline past...not going to happen this year bucko.

#231502Post 25 of 69

Re:: NOMAR TO CUBS

I'm pretty sure it will happen bucko due to the fact the Trade deadline is over but it can and will happen via WAIVERS.

The Star Ledger NJ reports that the Phillies and Rockies are willing to put both Millwood and Walker to unload their big paychecks and Yanks are willing to pay.

#231557Post 26 of 69

well, you didn't say waivers bucko.

Yanks buying up more talent, and will end in the same result as last year.

#231564Post 27 of 69

I dont follow baseball too much, but it does seem like the Yanks are always trying to just buy world series trophies, seems a bit lame to me.

#231571Post 28 of 69

^it is a bit lame.

and they it's not doing them the justice like it has in the past.

plus they're sacrificing their future as they've traded away a hell of a lot of prospects, (which is why they couldn't get the Unit from Arizona, nothing to give in return.)

#231582Post 29 of 69

I am commenting because the yankees situation is very similar to something in the Premiership in England.. Chelsea has new owner, well just before last season, and last year he spent and spent and spent, and didnt win a trophy. Got rid of the mgr in the off season, spent and spent and spent again. I think it is just unfair and takes away from the integrity of the game, in any sport IMO

Sort of like the Marlins a few years back, when they basically loaded a team, won the world series, and then broke the team up.

ok, I'm done, thanks for reading, lol

#231584Post 30 of 69

yeah, but the beauty of it all, is George Steinbrenner buying his team, thinking he's going to win, and then getting punked by the wildcard team in the world series.

:lol:

#231587Post 31 of 69

true, it is fun to see the Spank-mees take it in the shorts, and watching chelsea win fuck all was nice

Nah just the ones named Jib who bounce at the Blue Oyster.

#231612Post 35 of 69

#231613Post 36 of 69

you guys are sad and weak. jenks is the blu oyster regular, not me. i'm the geriatric porn king of western alabama.

#231615Post 37 of 69

Did you hear about the Alabama redneck who passed away and left his entire estate in trust for his beloved widow? She can't touch it till she's fourteen.

:CrackUp: jibs, you like em young, i thought they were talking about you but the guy died.

#231620Post 38 of 69

Re:: NOMAR TO CUBS

Jib is so modest. You should have him tell you his keen sense on identifying male pornstars by the look and length of their cocks. Quite the talent. :Naughty:

#231623Post 39 of 69

wow, where the hell is this thread heading? lol

#231626Post 40 of 69

Re:: NOMAR TO CUBS
