Re: Superbowl
I'm watching. also rooting for Seahawks
I've had 4 shots of Crown... now i've been reduced to beer.
new game to me.
:?:
Re: Superbowl
i don't follow it. but am trying to work it out as i watch.
if one team thinks there was a foul do they have to appeal for it by throwing down a plastic yellow flag?
you've been reduced to beer? hope it's not stella as MJ will drink you!
Re: Superbowl
beer + weed btw
Re: Superbowl
have you never watched an American Football game?
Re: Superbowl
no, not in it's entirety
Re: Superbowl
if one team thinks there was a foul do they have to appeal for it by throwing down a plastic yellow flag?
the referees will usually catch just about anything and throw a flag. if it wasn't caught by the ref or the team wants to dispute it, they can
TOUCHDOWN!
seahawks are coming back.
Re: Superbowl
yep 4 points in it now
Re: Superbowl
so those flags are from refs on the sidelines?
Re: Superbowl
so what's 2nd & 10 for example?
Re: Superbowl
A team has four downs to get a 1st down, which means the teams needs to advance ten yards or more. If a team doesn't advance ten yards in four downs then the ball is turned over to the other team. So 2nd & 10 means that it's the team's second chance to get 10 yards or more and they still have 10 yards to go to make a 1st down. That's the best way I can explain it...
Re: Superbowl
2nd down, 10 yards left before the ball is overturned to the other team. the team is given an opportunity to run the ball 30 yards in 4 plays(downs, basically), and if they can't make it they have to forfeit the ball. if they make it past the 30 yards, they're reset back to 1 down and have a new 30-yard stretch, or whatever distance the goal is... whichever is closer.
Re: Superbowl
Interception :MadNow:
Re: Superbowl
 thanks guys
Re: Superbowl
how many yards is the field?
Re: Superbowl
shit. steelers touchdown
Re: Superbowl
100 between the inner edges of each goal line. The goal posts are on the outer edge of each goal... 120 yards between posts i think
Re: Superbowl
this game sucked. :MadNow:
Re: Superbowl
yeah. i think.
the camera was trying to get up the coach's nostril
Re: Superbowl
Final Score....
Steelers 21 - Seahawks 10
Re: Superbowl
oh well.
not exactly a classic was it, and not just from the perspective of a seahawks fan.
seahawks were shit. steelers were shit. referees were shit.
probably the worst possible game to watch from a non-biased perspective i would think...
cant see us getting this far next year, especially if alexander goes.
Re: Superbowl
Fuck yeah, Steelers.
Re: Superbowl
no tits this year....damn the ad with the women on the guy on teh airplane was funny
Re: Superbowl
Tonight me and my ex-girlfriend attended the same superbowl party thrown by a friend who is as mutual as our decision to break up. We arrived at the same time and shared an elevator, which meant that we tossed our coats onto the bed one after the other.
On the walk home, I started to panic and I couldn't tell why. My façade of "I just feel like things are only going to get better" was falling apart, and I could feel the crumbling pieces pile into your belly. My steps grew heavier as I climbed out of the subway and I wondered whether I could make it home or whether I should fall to the base of a building and just stop breathing.
Breathing. I was breathing in her scent! Our coats rested on top of each other, and now my coat smells like her coat... I'm going to sleep with my coat in my arms tonight.
Tomorrow I'll call in sick and stay in bed with my face buried in the meat of my coat. I pray to God that she's doing the same thing with her coat.
Re: Superbowl
very boring game. glad bettis won something.

Re: Superbowl
Congrats to all you Steelers fans. The Steelers really did well beating some great teams in the playoffs. Tonight's game was boring though. I thought the Steelers-Colts game was more entertaining.
Re: Superbowl
what a bunch of bullshit calls
Re: Superbowl
Is it just me or were there some seriously bad calls by the refs?

You should write romance novels.
Re: Superbowl
the touchdown by BEN....it was damn close i'm not too sure bout dat
the personal foul call against seattle in the 3rd was crap
oh yeah the fumble call on hasselbeck, the KNEE was down.....had to be reviewed.....well they still lost
Re: Superbowl
dang
Re: Superbowl
what a bunch of bullshit calls
could not agree more. referees were shit tonight thats for damn sure.
Re: Superbowl
Worst superbowl ever.
And I remember the Pats V. Bears debacle of '86
Re: Superbowl
boring game. i had more fun watching the one month old baby at the party i was at. regardless, congrats to the steelers. glad to see bettis get one before he retires.
Re: Superbowl
bad bad bad bad refereeing.
examples: darrell jackson's offensive pass interference for his catch in the endzone - no way you'd see that bullshit called in the regular season ben r's td run - didnt look like he got in at all.... shocked that they didnt overturn it low block call on hasselbeck - 15 yard penalty... ben r. did the same fucking thing on the following drive and no call at all.
oh well... not like i expected seattle to make it that far anyway, glad they had a good season... and good for bettis, the rest of the steelers can fuck off
Re: Superbowl
that game was fixed........

Saw that too - same call went against Brady during the Jacksonville game in the Divisional Round as well. Also i think it was Alexander who got horsecollared to hell towards the end of the 3rd - no call on that one either. I doubt there was a fix, it's just that the officials were fucking terrible.
The Hawks will be a contender for a while though, with or without #37. The NFC West is shit and that home crowd almost guarantees 8 wins a season - they might be like the Eagles were the past four or five years (minus this season and that whole "sucking in the NFC championship games" thing).
Re: Superbowl
Those calls against seattle were dodgy as fuck!
