Don't know if any of you keep up with the tour, but there you have it, Lance Armstrong riding around Paris the 6 champion in a row, a new record.

The guy is a riding machine, can convert oxygen into his system like no other, and pumps 7 times more blood through his heart than the average person. Additionally, he has some genetic thing where he doesn't build up lactic acid - the junk that burns when you're riding hard. He was born to ride.

Pretty awesome.

Any of you ride? Road or off-road? I primarily like off-road, but for the Tour de France, it's too big to not be interested.

was watching the news and they said he rode 34 miles in 67 minutes during the 19th session. that is SICK ! but it was funny to hear him calling out the fans who boo him. the french are slightly ignorant. no?

#224808Post 3 of 36

Outstanding - the guy simply blew his "peers" away as soon as it got to the mountains.

obviosuly the Bush administration jacked the race so an american would win and the press would ignore the situation in iraq.

Viva la France! :Gay: i demand a recount!!!!

#224832Post 5 of 36

Man, it wasn't President Asshat. Everyone knows it was Sasha who fixed the race and everyone who is in the know knows that Sasha is just a pawn for the illuminati.
obviosuly the Bush administration jacked the race so an american would win and the press would ignore the situation in iraq.

Re:: Lance Armstrong does it again...

he was sipping champagne on his bike on his way to his 6th championship, nice way to do it in style 8)

Re:: Lance Armstrong does it again...

the tour looked harder way back when. they were showing how one of the other guys that one 5 earlier caught bronchitis while riding in the alps. the highlights show the alps with snow all over and this guy riding with shorts and a little shirts. looked nuts.

Gotta love straight-talking Texans.

Re:: Lance Armstrong does it again...

how could you boo someone who's persisted and beat out everyone....he's a superman in his own right and deserves as much credit as he can get.

#224916Post 10 of 36

Re:: Lance Armstrong does it again...

The man is a sporting legend - the Tour de France has gotta be the true test of a sportsman... but no-one likes him much. The great Eddy Merckx was booed occasionally as well so it's nothing new. This article's pretty good:

I heard some shit that people are claiming he "uses" something. please. he is a fucking champ. I wonder if he will be back next year.

Congrats on six in a row. 8)

There's a book out in France that alleges he 'used' something although it doesn't seem to have any evidence. Lance isn't very happy about it, unsurprisingly...

Re:: Lance Armstrong does it again...

don't be so gulible messrs  in a professional sport field there is NO way to stay clean. and as a sometime professional must tell you to my vexation cycling is the most contaminated discipline of all the rest :?
Hinault, five times a Tour winner, is an Armstrong fan, but he accepts that there is no comparison between Armstrong and Merckx. 'If Merckx had taken his career at the same pace that Armstrong has, he would still be racing at 60. I don't really give a damn whether Armstrong wins seven Tours; he may do because times are not the same and neither is the opposition or the way of racing.'
:WinkNSmi:

No, just kidding. Respect to Armstrong for winning for the 6th time... :Bingo:

I believe he was genetically modified by Kraftwerk to win the tour, and he got them the record deal for their TDF album in return. :p

sounds like a bitter frenchie to me.

maybe pissed that an American comes to his country every year and wins their silly little bicycle race in dominating fashion.

#225442Post 26 of 36

Congrats to him, the man is simply untouchable. having beat cancer has given him the mental toughness to give a 110% all the time :Respect:
this guys has big nuts.
That would be "a big nut" since he only got one left you know :WinkNSmi:

Here is Austin it has become quite revolting to see all the Armstrong wanna be's out in the streets these days in their spandex suits and crap. Makes me feel gassy and bloated just thinking about it.

#225985Post 33 of 36

^^^^ gassy? hmmm... Can we expect another one of your great stories?

#226040Post 34 of 36

This would have to be the only Lance Armstrong thread I've seen since the tour started that hasn't got a single mention of him being one of the biggest cheats in cycling. He only ever races the TDF and trains especially for it and as such only gets tested during it. No hard evidence but its pretty sus considering he can beat the guys juiced up to the eyeballs.
