I'm watching the Lakers/Nuggets game and wondering what everyone thinks about the upcoming season. That is if anyone cares...the sports discussion around here has become nonexistent. :what

I think it will be Spurs/Heat in the Finals...with the Heat winning it all. Alot of teams made a lot of moves this off-season, but the Heat are too much. Two seasons together should be enough for Shaq and D.Wade to have all of the kinks worked out. Plus they added Antwan Walker and Jason Williams. Neither one of them means all that much on their own, but added to the rest of the team's existing talent, they should add some quality depth.

So...anyone plan on watching any basketball this season??

Re: So does anyone here care about basketball anymore??

which crowd will provoke ron artest first this year?

i'm a spurs fan, but don't plan on following the season. too many games. i prefer football pace, or playoff urgency. that said, i say spurs repeat and hope (annually) shaq's tongue falls out of his head...

Re: So does anyone here care about basketball anymore??

i never cared about the NBA the first time. much less again. if i wanted to watch a bunch of criminals run around shouting "ooga booga" i'll turn it on The Discovery Channel and watch a show about prisons.

Re: So does anyone here care about basketball anymore??

I am a Spurs fan as I live 30 min. From San Antonio. I have been to 4 games but not in 5 years. I plan to go see a few this year as they are on FIYAH!!

I like to watch it because it is always enjoyable to see someone get their stuff smacked back to last week as they go up for a shot. Man I loved to watch Dikembe Mutombo smack the ball out of peeps hands. 12 vs. L.A. Clippers 04/18/93  Can you imagine that...12 in one game. 3097 career blocks

But I like me Spurs

go SpuRS GO!

Re: So does anyone here care about basketball anymore??

I'm a Pistons fan. Although I do have a soft spot for the Toronto Raptors. Living in Toronto probably has smething to do with it so don't hold it against me. I hope that one day Darko can actually get more then two minutes of garbage time a game. Can you believe the Pistons, passed on Carmelo Anthony to get this guy.

One of the funniest movies I've ever seen. The part with Al Micheals, when he is in the booth calling the game....classic.:lol:

Re: So does anyone here care about basketball anymore??

Won't watch professional basketball. The only thing I care about is college basketball because they actually play defense and March madness is the best time of the year for sports. Go Terps.

Re: So does anyone here care about basketball anymore??

Never did like b-ball that much, but I usually catch some of the playoff action. Oh, and it does make for some good Sports Center highlights.

you guys do realize they came within 1 game of winning 2 consecutive championships....i dont think joe dumars lays awake at night and thinks about "what could of been" with carmello. the pistons starting 5 works so well together, there just really isn't any room on that team for mello.

this is darkos year to show people he's not a bust, he got in during the second quater of last nights game early, so as long as he improves, he should see meaningful court time throughout the season. but kinda like joey harrington, you just don't see it with this guy.

Re: So does anyone here care about basketball anymore??

Real basketball = NCAA.

I can't get into the travelling, dunking, fouling, walking NBA.

this is funny tho...

agreed... NCAA plays with aspiration. NBA plays with ghetto-fabulization.

Re: So does anyone here care about basketball anymore??

Never really was a fan of B-Ball, love Baseball! But the past 3 years I've enjoyed watching the games. Laker fan here and I hate all that drama shit, especially that punk kid Kobe. Hopefully he's matured 100,000 times this season.

Watched the game last night against the Nuggets and it was a very exciting game. Close game all quaters, could have gone either way. Really good game to start off the laker season.

Re: So does anyone here care about basketball anymore??

i fell away from the sport for yyears after ewing left, but last year, after i had my back surgury and spent 2 weeks lying on the floor watching the playoffs, AMARE STOUDMARE and nash brought me back big time. i couldnt care about most teams, the spurs bore the fuck out of me, and everyone else for that matter(lowest TV team ever) but the suns are too fun to watch, nash's court awareness is only comparable to gretzky's ice awareness. amare is going to be a monster player when all is said and done. they run hard, play fast and fly high. good shooters as well. i had to buy the NBA package just to watch them.

Re: So does anyone here care about basketball anymore??

nba bores me. college football is my passion. screw the nfl. if i did get into b'ball it would definately be ncaa. there is true passion in the college game. in the pro's, they seem to just be looking to get paid.

Re: So does anyone here care about basketball anymore??

I used to give a SH%T when teams could actually play. Now its all missed shots, fouls, and flopping. The playoffs are even terrible to watch now adays. The refs call such horrible calls which clearly side with one team, its sick. Give me the old days of Dr. J and Clyde Frazier :Afro: Those guys knew how to rock the fro with style. I do like Ben Wallace's fro though.

Sorry I thought I should add this....... NBA has nothing on March Madness (Probably the best month of sports around)

Me too man. No need for the sad face, Phil is back, Kobe is new man and they've got a lot of new help. They should be better than last year at least.
i do not care what you say Jenks. beats baseball hands down any day of the week. final answer.
So true it hurts. I'm tempted to throw in some remarks about "watching grass grow" and" watching paint dry" when it comes to baseball....but I won't.

I'm not a Suns fan by any stretch, but I'm a Steve Nash fan from his days in Dallas. He alone is worth watching.

When it comes to college basketball...I could never get into it because there WAAAAY too many teams and WAAAAAY to many players. I'm a University of Florida sports fan period, and root for all of their teams, but even then I watch maybe 5-10 college basketball games a year. The tournament is sick, and that is the only time I really pay attention, but this "Greatest Sporting Event" thing...please. One game......sixty minutes...all the chips. That is an "event"."

Re: Nba++

NCAA is fun to watch, but it ain't no NBA. like all pro sports, most the players have serious issues, but when you see sports at full heart and all about the beauty, there is nothing more rewarding to a fan.
