note to self, when in a stadium which holds 70k ppl, with the leader of the USA in attendance, 4 years after 9/11, while a war s going on in the region your religion is based from, IN THE MIDDLE OF A FOOTBALL GAME ON MONDAY NIGHT, and while the majority of NY'ers still stare worrying, DO NOT BEGIN PRAYERS IN A SMALL GROUP. PEOPLE WILL BE SUSPICIOUS AND ASK QUESTIONS.

while its racial profiling, they wouldnt have arrested a group of tibetan monks. circumstances.

Re: its wrong, but i am laughing inside.

As I hope anyone would have.

They had to realize that what they were doing would have looked a little out of place and drawn some suspicion. I mean, they are in New York.

I don't agree with any kind of discrimination or profiling, but come on...use some common sense. :what

Re: its wrong, but i am laughing inside.

sometimes it is easy to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and not konw it

I can see the police approaching when they noticed where they were BUT, after they told the popo they were prayng then that should have been that. It would have been OK IMO to keep an eye on them for the remainder of the game BUT, only because of where they were standing. It was too much and too far to move them to a different seat which I am sure was not better than the one they were in, and it was WAY too much to escort them to their car as you know for a fact that their plate numbers were taken down and the FBI has done a check to see who owns the cars and if they are on any know terroist lists.

Borderlione paranoid, disrespectful IMO

Re: its wrong, but i am laughing inside.

this is one of those things where you are damned if they do, damned if the don't. Bust the guys are your profiling, let something happen and it's how-could-you-let-that-happen. Sorry but in this day and age, better safe than sorry If we're going to sniff shoes in the airport, and check purses on the subway, we might as follow through and stay on the safe side.

Re: its wrong, but i am laughing inside.

this is old news... why is CNN two months behind?

in my opinion, use common sense. he's a law student. he should be able to figure out if something looks suspiscious or not.

Re: its wrong, but i am laughing inside.

i think if its a "sensitive area" then it should have been fenced off to begin with...

blatant racial profiling... i think the guys have a right to be pissed off about it.

Re: its wrong, but i am laughing inside.

Bollox to the racial profiling bit . Common sense saves lives, protecting peoples sensibilities comes 2nd to lives i'm afraid . Call me old fashioned but bing inconveinienced is alot less painless than bing torn apart by a bomb .Just an opinion .

Musilms are going to be subjected to things like this and i feel for them . Alot more good uns than baduns out there . Howeva and as we are finding out in england the muslim community is doing nothing to help out in these situations . I'ts always the same , the idiot with the biggest mouth is the one heard and moderate muslims see it as none of their business . Race riots happening all over europe at the moment because the extremists are stirring up trouble and the moderates in charge either like it or can't be arsed trying to stop it . As a few have noticed i abhore religion but respect the person so this isn't a race issue for me .It's about assimilation and community awareness if they havn't cared how their actions would be percieved i don't care what their actions caused .How would it have looked if each had a bomb and exploded them in the crowds . And then a policeman said well i saw them praying and it did look suspicious but hell they got rights too ..

PUBLIC LYNCHING

p.s. The failed london bombers were seen chanting verses and rocking before they tried to detonate their bombs . Prayer is a personal thing unless it's in a place of worship. These are the reasons I use for my views on this matter . Just before anyone starts :)
It's tempting, because profiling based upon race, gender, age, religion, and political affiliation are effective measures for combatting crime from specific and known types of person. For example, men are a couple orders of magnitude more likely to commit any violent crime than women are, so at first glance it seems to make sense to focus all your investigative efforts on men; it'll yield the most bang for you enforcement buck, right? It works, but the price is too high. I have much greater fear of living in a society where it's a crime to be male, or young, or dark-skinned, or muslim, than a society that suffers very rare and mild terrorist attacks. (Killing Americans at 0.001% the rate of common car accidents.)

Personally, I'd rather take a 1:1,000,000,000 chance on not getting hit by a suicide bomber while living a nice life than take a 1:2 chance that I'll suffer at the hands of the government so that they can ensure (and really, they can't even do that) that I won't get hit by a terrorist.

It's hard to deal with paranoia, and not easy to blame someone.

Re: its wrong, but i am laughing inside.

This isn't a humourus matter E I'm sure pickle wouldn't find it funny if he was detained by security everytime he went near a school .( i hear he's even getting braces/retainers to look like he's 14 y.o.) Or Mj everytime he went near a flock of sheep . Or CDJ everytime he went near a group of heathens . I'm sure the 3 of them would look suspicious in those circumstances but should the police be allowed to intervene ?

Re: its wrong, but i am laughing inside.

mate I know what you mean that its no fun being singled out..... but they've dug the hole themselves and so if the wave of consequences is sweeping over their own kind, WHO is to blame for that ? fuck it, it happened, it happened, they weren't taken into little jail cells and sodomized till they lost their religion (can almost see CDJ coming in here now :p ) but fuck it sucks that they got busted that way. I didn't care to read through the whole thread but I'm just sick of negativity mate....

if you're in a fix and you know you are, just fucking laugh it out or die with a stroke. your call....

oh and I read an amazing article about Extremism / Terrorism etc. and how its roots seem to emanate from the middle east and they said it very well,

"All muslims are not terrorists, but all terrorists are muslims" and that is Verbatim from the article. Just food for your thought mate, WHY people get singled out.

that was my lame ass atempt at humour E . At work if anyone fucks about with my bosses stuff just in order to piss him off , I always get singled out and blamed for it . Is that profiling or him just using common sense ?
