Re: St Louis Cardinals.

beat me to the punch on that one. :)

Not looking good for the Cards right now, but I'm not ready to throw my WS tickets out just yet. We'll have Carpenter on the mound tonight, they hit well against Pettite in Game 1, and then we're back at home. If there's a way to get back into the series, that's it. Also, they've been hitting progressively better against Lidge, which gives me some hope -- last year, he was un-fucking-hittable in the postseason.

I know we've got an uphill climb, but not insurmountable.

Go White Sox

Re: St Louis Cardinals.

what makes anyone think that anyone will be able to do anything against pettitte, oswalt, clemens, backe (if he pitches like he did last night), wheeler and lidge? houston never gets any respect no matter how good they are. as long as the astros hit and don't strand so many fucking runners, not one team stands a chance against them.

on another note, the ump last night blew absolute asshole. i hope to god he gets fired and never umpires another mlb game in his life. he was fucking both teams over left and right on HORRIBLE pitches called strikes and great pitches called balls. i thought you had to not be blind in order to call games. i feel bad for tony larussa and jim edmonds because they both had very valid points to be pissed off.

GO ASTROS!

Re: St Louis Cardinals.

yeah but that's baseball. sometimes there are bad calls and sometimes they go your way sometimes they don't.

Re: St Louis Cardinals.

...and then there's pujols in the 9th, with two strikes and two men on...and the astros screaming from their dugout celebrating like they've already made it to the WS.

Re: St Louis Cardinals.

don't worry jenks they won't do that against Oswalt.. he is great.

#495431Post 18 of 22

Re: St Louis Cardinals.

I hate Pujols with a fiery passion. I'll let Oswalt show that fiery passion for me.
don't worry jenks they won't do that against Oswalt.. he is great.
Yep, he's a damn fine pitcher. Even if we lose, it was worth it to see that monday nigh thot.

Good luck with your laser beam, frenchie.

Re: St Louis Cardinals.

honestly I feel deep down somewhere in me that the Stros are going to somehow lose the series.. Pujols hitting a homerun llike that might turn that man into a hitting machine (like he already isn't)..

and i'm Irish..haha
