Markus Merk comes from the town I was born...Kaiserslautern. He?s one of the best German referees and a pretty nice and intelligent guy as well. :)

#214969Post 282 of 387

yea, he is a solid ref for sure

#215031Post 283 of 387

i`d like to see Collina to ref the final, he is a SOLID ref for sure :P

I dont know what age has to do with it, hes the best reff around without doubt. One of the few reffs that uses his common sense instead of sticking to UEFA rules and ruining the game.

as far as I heard he won't even be able to ref in Italy next season cause of that fact that is old = slow!

#215188Post 291 of 387

He will be retiring after next season , he is 44 and the age to be a refree in the Calcio is 45 I think , I saw this doc about him on RAI and he said he will concetrate on taking care of his grocery shop (he owns one) in a little village in Italy.

#215258Post 292 of 387

With Overmars instead of Van der Meijde Holland has a good chance to make it through the final, with a pornstar look-a-like referee (Frisk). And then... the final! Nedved suspended... rondvaart door de grachten!

#215263Post 293 of 387
with a pornstar look-a-like referee (Frisk)
That is exactly what i thought.

He most defo does.

#215290Post 294 of 387

hahahaha

Frish is the only ref with 4 games in the tournament so far and they don't have one single complaint... not even after the reviews UEFA does themself after each game and they look at videos etc (never happend in a major tournament before.)

:Bingo: :Bingo: :Bingo:

#215418Post 295 of 387

Portugal....now or Never.....:)

He is considering a move to England, I believe he has been offered the chance.

He could show some of the dodgy refs in the premiership how its done! :Bingo:

I hope the Czech's win. It would be a good time to get a bet on Germany winning the World cup in 2006 the odds should be at there best right now.

#215548Post 298 of 387

Well, today is the day!

You can feel the tension in the air around here! This whole country is united behind this team, like I?ve never seen it united for something.

Just so you can imagine it, our Prime Minister has just been nominated President of the European Comission (the most important political job in Europe), so a TV station went out to get people?s opinions on that. The answer was always something along the lines "well, good for our PM, but I?m really looking forward to our game against Holland" or "I don?t really care for that, I just want us to beat Holland".

Here we are, in the middle of one of our biggest political crisis ever, and people only care about the game!

Also, our coach Scolari asked that today everyone wore a piece of red or green clothing, so everyone?s walking around wearing red or green.

#215553Post 299 of 387

Yeah I read all that. Do people not normally wear the national colours? It should be compulsary for an international

No colour in the world though can couteract the presence of the orange glowing Dutch fans

Lets hope for a good game where there is a clear winner.. no god damn penalty shoot-outs

I guess very little will get done in Lisbon today.. work wise?

#215557Post 300 of 387

GREECE!!!!!!!!!

I have nothing more to say... GOOOOOOOOOOOO Greece!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finnally we r going to watch some football!!!

Man I was looking forward for a bit of action.

                         :Respect: Football ROCKS. :Respect:
                            Definitely the best game ever.

Well, the thing is that most Portuguese football fans really care more for their Club team (Porto, Benfica, Sporting, etc.) than their National side. That?s all changed now, and it took two Brazilians to change that (Scolari and Deco)!

My girlfriend works downtown and she says that place has turned orange! They?re out in force! I?m almost afraid of driving out there. I?ve driven to work this morning and now to come home for lunch and everyone?s crazy, you can seem people?s minds are not on their jobs, or driving or whatever. I?m so distracted that I tried to open the wrong car a few minutes ago...I was like "why won?t this bitch open???" until I realised it was an identical car, but not my own... :YeaRight:

#215587Post 303 of 387

Good luck to both Portugal and Holland tonight. I support the Dutch but i beleive that Ronaldo and the rest of the lads will do their best :!:

As for Greece, let's just hope that they are going to play consistently against the best team of the tournament so far. Bring it on

#215655Post 304 of 387

I hope that will enjoy a great much tonight. I am not supporting anyone..just for the love of the game. The beers are in the freezer for almost 10 hours... :Naughty:

As for Greece, you never know with this team. They are capable for the best and the worst. I hope that we shall win and qualify to the final.

#215698Post 306 of 387

to be honest, i think portugal is playing better than holland and has been playing better and better, however i`ll be cheering Holland tonight 8)

#215985Post 307 of 387

hahaha, the netherlands are out ... luck is over. Portugal deserved the win, even afer the own goal. Actually, it should have been 3-1 or even 4-1. Go Portugal

#215988Post 308 of 387

Go Portugal! good job!

:Bingo: :Bingo: :Bingo:

#215989Post 309 of 387

Own goal ... but the guy saved many many balls! So ... We can forgive him :D

Very nice game! and yes! Portugal defenety diserved the win! A Portugal - Grece final would be cool ... Both teams have a huge motivation ... and would be a great game ...

#215994Post 310 of 387

Portugals are damn good, i think they will win, Czechs will lose, it's tipycal for them to play perfect and then to lose

#216023Post 311 of 387

great job by portugal, first host nation to make the final since 1984

still, i'd rather see the greeks (yea right) or czechs win the tourney :Bingo:

#216028Post 312 of 387

FODA-SE GANH?MOS, CARALHO!!!!!

That means "Fuck, we won!" and some other profanity.

It?s fucking mad outside!

Why did we have to suffer this much again? We deserved the win, the Dutch were dead after that 2nd goal (or should I say, that missile?), but they believed again after the own goal. But they did little more than "kick and rush". We could?ve killed the game a few times before, but there you go.

GO PORTUGAL!!!

#216031Post 313 of 387

Go Portugal!!! They deserved it 100% and won 3:0! 3 wonderful goals  The Dutch missed a couple of fine chances, but Portugese had even more. And what a support from the crowd, I wish I was in Portugal to party...

#216036Post 317 of 387

OH, btw, I don?t give a crap about who plays against us in the final. It was our 3rd time in the semis, and we finally got through, so you?ll forgive me if I say I don?t really care anymore!!! [/img]
