First up I wanna say congratulations to all the Greek people of MS, you have far exceeded expectation! Best of luck in the final!

I do feel really sorry for the Czech republic though, firstly they lost their best player (Nedved) one of the stars of the tournament, and luck was really not on their side. They looked like wanting to win the game more than Greece as the attacking was a lot stronger, but Greece held their great defence together.

Fair play, they have not conceded to either France or the Czech Rep :Bingo:

I feel now that it is in the bag for Portugal, they are gonna throw all their attacking power at Greece on Sunday

Good luck to both!

Re:: Who is gonna win the Euro 2004?

You cant see any choices you cant understand .... Greece is at the finals and it can beat anyone (that is what these guys doin' so far, innit?) even Argetina of Maradona Marakan and Brazil of Super Pele. What is happenin' at Portugal and here in Greece is something that nobody can easily beleive... It might be the Portugal who has the names and the advantage of the Euro organization, but also its Portugal again who is terrified Greex, coz we had nothin to loose and we proove it each time we enter the Field.

Sikose to, to timimeno, den mporo den mporo na perimenoooooooooooo

Re:: Who is gonna win the Euro 2004?

This is what I have to say

    Game / Comments / Result

Portugal - Greece / Easy start for Portugal / 1-2

France - Greece / France will obviously win / 0-1

Greece - Czechs / Czechs are the favourite / 1-0

Portugal - Greece / The easiest final ever / Pending!

And for all of the non-believers.... u r in for a surprise

:RightOn: Go Greece :RightOn:

Its all set up for portugal

but only a naive man would right off Greece now, we now what they can do

You think you think you have em against the ropes and in the blink of an eye they've pulled your pants down and are screwing you againt the wall, isn't that right France/Czech Rep?

Not the most exciting but certainly works!

portugal have more flair

This is gonna be an interesting final

All these big teams are getting dicked cos they are not use to the way Greece play

Portugal will subconciously fear Greece which was unthinkable a few weeks ago.

Greece are a hard team to play against, they defend to well and make good use of there chances!

We already know that Greece can beat portugal,

but the main thing is that Portugal have improved big time!!

Well, I obviously have to vote for Portugal.

I?m confident in my vote too, though not as over-confident as some people here in Portugal.

There?s one thing our Greek friends are forgetting, though : the Portuguese starting eleven for the Final will be different from the one that started the 1st match, in key positions. May I remind you that, on that day :

  • Miguel wasn?t on the 1st eleven
  • Ricardo Carvalho wasn?t on the 1st eleven
  • Nuno Valente wasn?t on the 1st eleven
  • Cristiano Ronaldo wasn?t on the 1st eleven
  • Deco wasn?t on the 1st eleven
  • Nuno Gomes will probably take Pauleta?s spot. He wasn?t on the 1st eleven either
  • Karagounis, who scored the 1st Greek goal, won?t play.

Of course, this might not mean shit. We have a saying in Portuguese football : "If it wasn?t for the fact that you have to score goals, Portugal would be World Champion everytime".

So, you can play the most beautiful attacking, passing game ever, and still lose. And if there?s anyone that can prove that, it?s Greece.

So I?m saying it?s 55%-45% for Portugal.

Oh, and I?m sorry to say, but I don?t understand how true football lovers outside of the Greeks themselves can support Greece. I hate the type of game thay put on, just a concrete defense, and then waiting cynically on an opponent?s mistakes.

You can say that Portugal "dived" it?s way to the Final, but at least we put on a skilled display, with beautiful goals and attacking football.

And I mean, we were the bost hosts ever in a competition like this!

Wow, I was gonna write a lengthy response, but you took the words out of my mouth.

I would have loved to see Czech going to play us in the Final (even though our own odds on winning would be slimmer), because they were the best team in the Tournament, and I love seeing teams who actually PLAY football.

Greece play a strange mix of German/Italian football, cinstantly defending, and playing on little more than the opponents mistakes, IMHO.

However, I was very impressed with the way they played the overtime. They leaped on the Czechs, like lions to a prey. It was as if they had it planned : exhaust the opponent and then deliver the fatal blow. Amazing!
Greece!! ...because of their german trainer
yeah, and because they play the most borring football their team plays defens so how can they loose? :)

#216936Post 375 of 387

i am afraid that scores in final would be 1:0, such scores suck

Hopefully portuguese will win, i like more their game than Greeks defending

#216938Post 376 of 387

GREECE I say. They are unpredictable. I bet the czechs thought they were just going to play for penalties last night, and then BAM. They're going home. Portugal has the talent, of course, but who is going to have more heart. Plus Greece already beat them. Granted it was with different players on the pitch, but they must be feeling pretty confident, after knocking out the holders and one of the favourites.

Its modern football....actually modern greek football , it might be boring but they get the results they want and thats what counts bravs......passion,tactic,strategy,teamwork play a big role. We have a saying that "The best defense is the best attack".

Go HELLAS!!!

Re:: Euro 2004

Bad luck to the Czechs. It was really their game. Played hard for it until suprising header in the final minutes of et. If Nedved didn't get injured they would've definately won plus those two oppurtunities from Koller. Going for portugal to win euro '04.

#216975Post 379 of 387

i hope portugal wins, but im not gonna bet anymore 8)

#216989Post 380 of 387

Re:: Who is gonna win the Euro 2004?

Taking nothing away from the people of Greece and the team they have done awesome, but I think it will be a shame for international football if Greece win. As much they deserve all they achieve for working hard, Greece do tend to sit back and wait for their chances rather than make them for themselves like Portugal do.

I think people will agree that this does not make for esciting football, and if both teams played like this it would be very dull indeed!

Portugal are the better team, but I fear for Portugal that they will fall into the same attaking trap.

If Greece loose a goal then they are fucked!! they have no back up plan for this... unlike Portugal

Portugal will win!

#216994Post 381 of 387

those celebrations look awesome. my aunt and uncle are in greece right now, what a time they picked to take a holiday over there
