Re: red sox suck
Granted the Yankees won tonight but the Yankees are doing sooooo much better thank Boston is suppose....pft!
Re: red sox suck
That was one of the longest home runs I've ever seen at Fenway.... god....dammit
Worst part is that in my absolute rage I broke a $185 coffee table - the only real table in my apartment too. I'm sending the bill to Francona for letting Embree lead off the 8th.
Re: red sox suck
as a die hard yankee fan who is realistic i have had some thoughts this season i never had.
i find this season more enjoyable because the ups and downs have me reeling at times.
i find a lot more suspense in each game because it is no longer expected that they win. you hope.
Jeter is having a brilliant year under the radar. A-rod is learning that it isnt how many hits you have, its when you get them. MO is in a banner year.
you notice torre and mattingly a lot more now that the team struggled so much.
they have to earn it now. it isnt expected any more.
as a lifetime yankee fan, i concur sightless. i havent been locked on to baseball this hard since i was a younger kid. its exciting again!
Re: red sox suck
I think it's exciting again because the Orioles are in the mix this year. The AL East is most likely going to send 2 teams to the playoffs with the wildcard so there is a great playoff race happening early in the season.
Re: red sox suck
There's been so much talk the last few years about how Bos/NYY know eachother so well and how closely they play eachother - but what no one ever mentions is that Baltimore knows both of those teams just as well. This is the most even these three teams have been in ages and it's going to make for an insane second half, which means I'll probably be breaking more expensive furniture before the year is through.
Fuckin A why can't the sox be up by 90 games at the break and just run away with the division early? Instead I've got to sweat out each and every inning like its game 7 - just once I'd like to watch my home team play and have complete and total confidence that they'll win.
Guess I'll just have to wait until the Pats kick off for that.

Re: red sox suck
kobe , dont go there. tell your team's fans to show up like NY/Bos/LAA fans do and you'll have the revenues. the Boss has not paid a single penny out of his pocket since the initial buy. it all comes from the money they earn.
stop saying that "he" buys ppl with "his " money. just show up.

Why can't I go there? Yankee fans can?t have their gloat sessions interrupted?
Whether it is right, wrong, fair, or even feasible for any other team are all debates for a different thread. I am posting on the subject of "suck," so considering the advantage they have over the rest of baseball, isn't it the 3rd place, 47-40 Yankees that suck? (A team, BTW, that only recently got above a .500 record)
here's the link for everyone else to see: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/teams/salaries?team=nyy
I mean come on:
There's only one team who they don't have double (or much more) the payroll of.
There are 6 teams that combined don't make Jeter and A-rod's combined salary.
2/3's of the league have an entire team payroll that is less than the difference between NYY and BOS's payrolls.
I could go on but you get the point-- any way you turn these numbers over the Yankess are, to put it lightly, under performing.
BUT, I am glad you're enjoying the season. :Bingo:
Re: red sox suck
What the hell is Baltimore doing paying Sammy Sosa over 17 million this year to strike out every at bat. What a waste.

Re: red sox suck
At least he will hit home runs and drive in runs, we are paying Bellhorn $2,750,000 and he strikes out at least 2 times a game and doesn't give us anything aother than a good glove in the field.
so glad i got to see last nights game on ESPN at 3am. i stayed up til 5 to watch the yanks come back to win. gotta love those homeruns!!!!

your facts are BS. he doesnt pay his own money. should he just take more profit at the expense of the tteam? like i said, tell your teams fans to show up. your team would have a larger payroll, and if they didnt could only blame the owner. if anything, blame yankee fans for caring enough to actually go to the game.
Re: red sox suck
should I copy/paste my last post or do you want to go back and actually read it this time :?:
Maybe Kansas City fans would show up if they thought there team had a chance. The KC Chiefs draw pretty well, don't they? Is KC just more of a football town than baseball?
Steinbrenner should not keep the money, really there should be profit sharing and a salary cap like in every other sport, but like I said before that is another topic.
Back now to my point, here's the Cliff's Notes: NYY = overpaid & underperforming = suck
The NYY have no excuse to not go all the way this year and every year. Viewed in this light their first half was an utter failure.

kobe, plz take your boyfriends penis out of your mouth. :P
just cause their salary is over 200 million doesnt mean the yankees are not human. as we well know humans are not perfect. so how do you say that we should win every game, every chamionship, every bla bla. yes they are my fav team. yes i am sad they are not destroying every team in baseball. no i am not crying about it.
Re: red sox suck
right after you take Jeter's penis out of your ass. It's no accident that he's "#2" :Anal: :D
haha. touche'
Re: red sox suck

Re: red sox suck
love the Yanks, irratated by the socks
and good looks to all the true blue yankee fans who stuck in there, props to Leiter the 40 year old fighter who had his career come full circle and by the way bean town we have another lefty ... are guys might be ageing but they have enough in the tank to get us to the promised land and a little food for thought, they retire we'll have all that salary space for the up and coming pitchers to complent Jeter and company ...
Re: red sox suck
season series 7-6 yanks, same number in loss column...GO YANKS!!!
Re: red sox suck
why did espn run a special on massachusetts sports today?
Re: red sox suck
Did anybody catch the game last night...DRAYS WIN!!!
and they bean two of our guys and we didnt even retaliate...then they cry about a call and have enough pull to get the umpire to change a bang bang call...ridiculous. Pinella had one of his classic blow ups as well.
I just really enjoy when the lowest payroll team beats ur high priced teams....
The KC Chiefs draw pretty well, don't they? Is KC just more of a football town than baseball?
As a former Kansas Citian, you are 100% on the money here. Going to a Chiefs game is a religious experience -- Lambeau is probably the only place you can really talk about in the same terms when it comes to football. Baseball, not so much -- at least not for the last couple of decades...
Re: red sox suck
^probably one of the best home field advantages in the NFL sits in KC @ Arrowhead.
Too bad the Chiefs are guaranteed to let you down every year, no matter what kind of talent they put on the field.
Tell me about it. At least Schottenheimer is out of there now. Having that guy at the helm was a guaranteed recipe for disappointment. Great during the regular season, cursed in the playoffs. At least Vermeil knows what it feels like to be a winner.
