Re: champions league quarter finals
Bayern munchen should be kicked out of any tournament imo for destroying european football. They ve been boring as hell for the last 30 years for christs sake. Chelsea will win the away match as well but will have a hard time beating ac milan in the final.
We' ll see about Chelsea winning anyway and Bayern played some awesome matches in the past seasons of the Champions League and they have already beaten EVERY class team in the world and won the Champions League in 2001 so they can't be that bad. :P As for Ballack cheating....nearly every football player does that from time to time so what?s the point?

Re: champions league quarter finals

chelsea will go through in my opinion, most likely with an away win... i hope liverpool can get past juve, that would be a good semi-final. inter were unlucky, and deserved better than they got, but at the end of the day, its who scores the most goals and milan will most likely make it to the final now, i cant see lyon or psv beating them (although who predicted porto winning last year?) the competition is very exciting right now, cant wait for the 2nd legs

Re: champions league quarter finals

Forza inter, hope theyre gonna make it a bit difficult to milan.

Is Adriano scheduled to play in first eleven?

Re: champions league quarter finals

It doesn?t matter for bayern if they lost the game in London 1:0, 4:2 or 11:9. A 2:0 win at home is enough for them.

Re: champions league quarter finals

from soccernet.com commentary..

"Excitement (of a sort) sweeps the press box as news filters through that Mourinho, unhappy with his seat, has done one back to his hotel to watch the game on telly. Rumours he had a pizza and a four pack of Stella as he left are, as yet, unconfirmed"

so he is a smart fella after all

Re: champions league quarter finals

milan scored too. too bad about that imo, but chelsea must be feeling good.

#398805Post 54 of 89

Re: champions league quarter finals

yeah, 3-0, and an away goal, looks like Inter is done

#398809Post 55 of 89

Re: champions league quarter finals

they just need adriano to pop up and nab 4 in the second half against milan's defence and dida. no problem imo.

#398815Post 56 of 89

Re: champions league quarter finals

well there goes adriano. inter are even more fucked than they would normally be, 3-0 down with an away goal against them and less than 40 minutes to go

#398822Post 57 of 89

Re: champions league quarter finals

trouble in milan! flares everywhere and dida got hit by one. uh oh.

if Liverpool beat Juve

Re: champions league quarter finals

I didnt like Chelsea playing second half at all. One situation? What was that Bayern playing against Skonto Ryga or Chelsea, future Champions, nahhh....I rather watch Italians playing their Cattenacio.

Chelsea looked aboslutely the same as when they play with one red card against barca, but full team this time.

They gonna loose it with Milan or Juve in final.

Re: champions league quarter finals

fucks sake, talk about making it interesting. good thing Drogba got that second goal.

Re: champions league quarter finals

Looks like things "flared" up in Milan - game abandoned with 20-mins to go after absolute mayhem broke out. The AC goalkeeper suffered 1st degree burns after a ship-flare knocked him out.

Hey MJ - I reckon Jose M thought there would be better action off the pitch, and had a couple of high class call girls organised instead.

Yeah, probably something he learned while at FC Porto. Their president is known around here as a guy who knows how to make his people happy...and some referees too, it seems.

I?m sure he?ll be pissed at those two goals in the end though, he doesn?t take kindly to that kind of lack of concentration. I saw their game against Birmingham and they suffered a similar goal. I guess that?s bad news for their opponents though, I think this was the last time they made such mistakes.

As much as I?m rooting for Chelsea to win this though, I think a Chelsea-Milan final will be one of the most boring games of the century. Milan are even more cynical than Chelsea, and they?re even more boring than Bayern, nowadays.

Yeah, and alike NBA games ....fans after scoring a winning goal will be singing...DE....FENCE...DE.....FENCE :)

Hope not

#399160Post 68 of 89

Re: champions league quarter finals

That Drogba's goal it was very important to chelsea, in the last minutes of the match Chelsea lost their concentration and allowed Bayern to score more 2 goals and that's one of the things that Mourinho will work soon, its something that can make him nervous about. Chelsea supporters should be proud of Lucio, he scored 2 goals  maybe Mourinho will take him to Chelsea for the next season. Chelsea will play the final, probably against AC Milan, if so i though it would be a boring game, I hope not. Sad to know that the crowd in italy keeps doing that kind of things, its something usual there.

Re: champions league quarter finals

lets all hope there is no bull shit goings on during the Liverpool v Juve match today. all these reports about "fans" doing this, they are not fans at all, just arse holes with nothing better to do. What happened in '85 was very unfortunate, but come on, can we turn the page...

#399207Post 71 of 89

Re: champions league quarter finals

agreed. signs of trouble before the game apparantly. ive got it taping on espn2 at home, but will be following on soccernet, just cant resist.

Re: champions league quarter finals

looks like the Scousers might make it through. Too bad they meet Chelsea next. An ALL England final would be great.

Ronaldino really looks stupid now after saying all the English clubs will be out last round.

liverpool go through!

Re: champions league quarter finals

Mighty mighty Reds!! Awesome defensive display, Hyppia was magnificent.

Maybe we'll get some credit for this performance.... There are not many clubs that could do anything with the injury list we've had this season, it's been madness. We've knocked out Juve with a patched up team, and surely we deserve some luck against Chelsea this time?

Next season with our injured players back and some new signings I think Rafa can really take us places.

Re: champions league quarter finals

Carragher, Hyypia and Alonso were simply awesome - Xabi's only played 45mins since boxing day put played the pass of the match and put the Juve midfielders to shame. I've never known the likes of Nedved to have such a quiet game.

The BBC says it all "Rafael Benitez's injury-ravaged side delivered a performance of discipline and resilience to protect their 2-1 lead from the first leg at Anfield."

Hopefully Chelsea have used up their allocation of a considerable amount of good fortune with those two deflected goals against Bayern.

Oh, believe me, Chelsea will get their luck some other way.

According to Portuguese newspapers, Mourinho :

a) is The son of the Devil b) made a pact with the Devil at a crossroads c) is the Devil himself

Re: champions league quarter finals

im a happy man today! what a performance/result last nite! reckon we can give chelsea a good run for their money too with the second leg being in anfield. i think ac milan will be too much in the final if we make it though

Re: champions league quarter finals

Damn Damn Damn!!! Juve couldn't even get a goal at home!

Now could someone please tell me what the hell happened when these teams met back in 85? On the broadcasts here and on all websites that I read they merely mentioned that over 30 people died, but they kept tiptoeing around what actually happened. And as an American who got into football like mad about 10 years ago, I have no idea about much of the history. :NotMe:

Re: champions league quarter finals

it was a riot prior to the 1985 european cup final between liverpool and juve. 39 people died, mostly italian.
