Notre Dame Fightin Irish #1
Re: Notre Dame Fightin Irish #1
yep, they're undefeated... lets have them come play in the sec for a season and see how they fare. ;)
hopefully they lose to USC so it'll be another SEC nat'l championship. lol.
Re: Notre Dame Fightin Irish #1
With Matt Barkley out I don't see that happening. Even if he was playing I don't think USC would have a shot. They are awful this year. Notre dame will never leave the independent league as long as they have NBC. They will however have to play some ACC teams as the rest of their sports join the ACC. Maybe then Notre Dame will get some credit.
Re: Notre Dame Fightin Irish #1
haha, ACC? they have two, maybe three good teams in that entire conference.
i am happy for you justin and i do think notre dame deserves a shot because they're undefeated, but their schedule turned out to be quite a powder-puff schedule this year. albeit, the oklahoma win was great. can't wait for the playoff system where teams will be forced to prove they're the best. having said that, if notre dame ends up beating whoever they play in the nat'l championship, i will gladly eat my words. :)

Powder-puff schedule?? ND consistently has one of the tougher schedules in the league every year- they'll play anybody.
Notre Dame beat (4)Stanford, (10)Michigan State, (8 )Oklahoma, (18 )Michigan, with additional wins over teams with winning records- Navy, BYU, Purdue, and Miami.
So tired of hearing SEC honks use the "oh well they don't have to play in the SEC...." line to dismiss another team's accomplishments.
Let's see, (3) Georiga beat big powerhouse juggernauts like- Florida Atlantic, Buffalo, Kentucky lol, Georgia Southern.
(2)Alabama ran over some fluffs too, and both Georgia and Bama took losses to top 10 teams, while Georiga nearly lost to fking Mizzou, and we're horrible this year.
Notre Dame earned that #1 ranking.
Re: Notre Dame Fightin Irish #1
yeah... michigan state turned out to be a big juggernaut didn't they? :)
i'm glad ND is undefeated so it is definitive that they deserve their #1 ranking. it should be a good nat'l championship. i'm inclined to say if UGA somehow upsets alabama in the SEC championship, i think ND has a good shot at winning. otherwise, not too sure...
sorry about mizzou this year... i really thought they'd be the ones over A&M doing well in their new conference.

Bama and Georgia had two of the weakest schedules in the SEC, but nobody is going to write about that because they're the darlings of the "glorious SEC." A&M takes them both to the woodshed all day long imo. I wish the 4 team playoff was this year, but that wouldn't really solve anything, because there 8 legitimate contenders this year.
Re: Notre Dame Fightin Irish #1
was really hoping USC was going to beat them, ah well

AMEN... a 4 team playoff isn't going to solve anything. that'd put 2, maybe even 3 SEC teams in there this year and like you said, leave a whole bunch of contenders out. 8 teams isn't even ideal, but it makes way more sense than 4.
