while i do think it is rather silly that albert does not like his nickname because it means the same thing as stan "the man's" nickname in a different language, i find it very admirable that he has so much respect for his past heroes. but even moreso, i find it unbelievable that the angels seem to already be disrespecting him. i took this article to say that they don't care how albert feels and they are going to trod along and continue calling him 'el hombre'. it really pisses me off! i feel like they're more or less saying "we own you."

looking for your thoughts jenks... wish he was still in st louis i imagine! :p

Re: El Hombre - Pujols

not sure about the nickname, but their lineup is frightening. I am sure Pujols will be hitting bombs at Target Field sooner or later. Hopefully the Angels can give the Yanks & Rangers a run for their money in the AL. I will pull for them to do so as long as they refrain from resurrecting THE RALLY MONKEY

I always liked that Albert respected The Man so much. Stan is a legend, both on and off the field.

Do I wish Albert was still here? Not for the 200 million we offered him. Even at that price, 50 million less that he got from LA, it would have hamstringed our franchinse on the back end of the contract, and most Cardinal fans know that and didn't mind sending him on his way. Our line up is still ridiculous with Berkman, Holiday, Beltran, Freese, Molina, Frucal, Craig, etc. We get Wainright back this year. I think it's fair to say the Cards might be better this year than last.

i love lance berkman... do you think he'll start at first base now? he's played that for many years in houston and i always thought he did an admirable job.

he's our 1st baseman now with Albert gone, which is nice, because he doesn't exactly have the speed the outfield requires. lol. quality clubhouse guy, great hitter. i like the guy.
