I am still looking for the mix though. I had this on tape years ago, but it somehow was taken from me many years ago. It was a really great set that i would love to hear again. I wondering if any anyone has a link or copy of this mix called Sasha @ Love Of Life 1994 (aka studio mix). Thank you very much.

If you still want it try on OldSkool Anthems, you will have more luck.

I don't know what happened to vertigo. A lot of his 92 to 94 mix tapes where repackaged and sold as Sasha, particularly in the south of England. I also some mix tapes Labeled as Digweed & Oakenfold Positive Collection Vol 1 & 2 from 1995. They where real shite. I ended up giving them away to some one because i was that sure they where fakes. I had a long running argument with someone who claimed they where genuine. It turned out they where DJ Vertigo mixes to. The 92 to 94 Vertigo sets where quite good and fooled a lot of people. The 95 sets utter shite, I'm guessing he went down hill.

Unless Chunky/Vertigo had anamazing source for seriously upfront promos and imports then i believe that set is definately Sasha. For instance, when i originally bought this tape in Time is Right in Bristol, me and my mates were all trying to get hold of the tracks, for instance, the BT track that is listed here as "B.T. - Embracing the Sunshine (sasha's mix)" is in fact BT - Embracing The Future which was on the other side of Deeper Sunshine which although was released in late '93 on (US) Music Now Records, was seriously fucking hard to get hold of. (Incidentally, it was retitled "Embracing The Sunshine" when Sasha's remixes were released on Perfecto a couple of years later). I also remember that Sasha's remix of Secret Star by House Of Zekkarias didn't appear on promo until weeks after we heard this tape and i was right on the case and had some very good sources for promos/imports at the time.

Not sure why Chunky or Bradyman think this is by Vertigo and not Sasha but it isn't.

Where did you say ? you bought that tape South Of England hmm what got peddled as Sasha in South Of England LOL. I also posted in my first post that this was being peddled as Love Of Live 1993 and in the South Of England. Never herd of a professional DJ getting seriously upfront promos and imports [U]after[/U] they where released say Jan 94. Sounds to me that your just pissed because you have been duped all this years LOL.

So do you want to know how I knew many Vertigo sets where peddled as Sasha in the south of England ? That was pretty much common knowledge there are loads of them. If you wasn't to believe they are Sasha that's up to you. I'm not saying I'm always right just giving and opinion. I thought that Sasha Birthday set was fake when I first herd it, turns out that is genuine.

I can't see why anyone would doubt this is Sasha unless they have any proper reason to, but for the reasons i said in my post about Embracing The Future and Secret Star, i have no doubt that this is definately Sasha...

vertigo sets usually quite easy to tell .only 50% in key and lots of drifting in mixing. occasional traincrash.

Vertigo put out a lot of his mixtapes as a series labeled as Grin. The Vertigo mixes all had fairly specific dates and locations on them. There are literally loads. But don't take my word for it. Ask about it on Oldskool Anthems

I totally agree! I have a copy of the whole set from "oldskool anthems" the website. But the audio was shit! So I did my best to use Live 7 to re-eq it.

Anyhow, I would love it if someone that has the tape please record it and post a copy of this set Sasha @ Love Of Life 1994 (aka studio set) or if it really was Vertigo. So what I don't care it if it was not Sasha... it still was a great tape, that I did have in my possession once!

Ok yeah I found a copy of Vertigo - Up Up Away & Gone, Jan 94 (Grin) that is this mix tape. Ok, yeah the more I think about it I guess this really was Vertigo and not Sasha afterall. I am very happy I went back to review this link to read what you guys posted here about this one tape. Great thanks for the info. I would have never guess it was Vertigo. But yes like said I know Sasha's sound very well and yeah it would not really be like him then to put these particular song in this order. I know it really sounds like Sasha, but yeah its not! Cool I am very glad I figured this out and found a good copy finally. I was happy a few years ago to find a copy on oldschoolanthems but the sound was shit!
