The launch of Sasha’s emFire label was undoubtedly one of the main talking points during the last half of 2007. Four original tracks were released and the discussion raged: which was best or least favourite be it at home or in a club? Was Mongoose really Sasha? And, of course, who killed Sparky? Now the debate is set to continue as Sasha releases ‘The emFire Collection’.

Disc 1 plays host to ‘The Remixes’, which invites four of the world’s most exciting producers to present their interpretations of the emFire catalogue by way of a totally unique twist. Each carefully selected artist was commissioned to provide two versions - a traditional club and alternative, leftfield mix. The result is a very special, duplicitous ride through the minds of Slam, Audion, Radio Slave and The Field totaling an unmixed 70 minutes. The anticipated, incredible results beg one question – which do you prefer?

Disc 2 features 3 exclusively edited originals and the previously unreleased ‘Spangled Rubdub ‘ of Coma alongside Sasha’s 40 minute, mixed score to the surf movie ‘New Emissions Of Light & Sound’. The score, which has never been released in audio format, recently took top honours at the X Dance Awards ([url]www.x-dance.com[/url]) that run in conjunction with the esteemed Sundance Film Awards and are effectively the Oscars equivalent of the sport movie industry. A beautiful, haunting ride, the extended piece provides a fitting conclusion to this bumper emFire package.

superwave says' A first listen, I didn't believe it was DJ Sasha! I was given the mp3 copy for listen & review through soulseek, and the set through me off for the first three and a half minutes. Before I got to turn it off, though, it started resembling Sparky. Then when arthill began, I knew that it was legendary Shit, and that I could be no other than Sasha[with help]. Most of you'll give a representation of one of his mixing techniques/effects as like "Ping Pong". When I really have always heard it as "Wocka Waucka". You know, like Fozzy Bear! Then again, I have a disposition to hear simularities. Example: how marketplace sounds just like another track I can't remember the name of right now[?wavy gravy/burma rmx?]. The shortness of the mix is a timeless THING. No construction before has come to be as dynamic to me. The Transitions between tracks is Cool & the nature is almost flawless! I have to give my best Reviewing Props to the NEOLAS Score!!! The timing of the emFire collection release is B-E-A-utiful!

Now I just have to find somewhere offline to buy the DVD, NOLUCK SO FAR!!!!!!!!
