I thought id upload this. Ive had it a while. It from the old mix tape labeled Sasha Angels Volume 2. But i don't think its Sasha ! I think its Digweed as the tracklist is similar to the Essential Mix Digweed did on 3rd September 1995 and nothing like the one Sasha did. Digweed always used to play the 2 mixes of Zee Dream time together and i don't remember Sasha ever doing it. Unfortuantely this set has been track marked which i find anoying. If i ever get an original copy i will redo it. And who ever it is its a good set

It must be inbetween track 4 & 9 because 9 is Delacy - Hideaway & 4 is Angels Moraes - Heaven Knows. It maybee the London Beat track as there are two parts. I hope this narrows it down for you

Re: Sasha 5th August 1995, Angels, Burnley

I still think this is Digweed. For me its to similar to his essential mix and would Sasha copy Digweed with the 2 mixes of the Dreamtime track

John Digweed 03-09-1995 / Essential Mix : 01 Young American Primitive ? Daydream 02 Young American Primitive ? Over And Out 03 Simply Red ? Fairground 04 Lighthouse Family ? Ocean Drive 05 Daphne ? Change 06 Sasha & Marie ? Be As One 07 Quivver ? Believe In Me 08 Tenth Chapter ? Wired 09 Zee ? Dreamtime (Dub) 10 Zee ? Dreamtime 11 BT & Taylor ? Calling Your Name 12 Spirits ? Don?t Bring Me Down (Remix) 13 BT & Sasha ? Heart Of Imagination 14 Crescendo ? Are You Out There? 15 Blue Amazon ? No Other Love

Big thanks to Chunky! Granted I was partying often back then, but its hard not to feel like the tunes had much more feeling in the early to mid 90's. Whatever your take on that is, the music is definitely good.

Re: Sasha 5th August 1995, Angels, Burnley

No my theory was that Sasha didn't turn Angels, Burnley 10th June 1995 and Tall Paul played instead. Sasha played 5th August 1995 and the set was recorded and someone years latter labeled it 10th June. I'm convinced the set that was labeled Sasha @ Angels 5th August 1995 actually John Digweed. The cassette version of this had 3 tracks missing when it was released 10. Zee - Dreamtime (Dub) 11. Zee - Dreamtime (Original Mix) & 23. E'Voke - Runaway. A lot of the tracks in this set appeared on John Digweeds Essential Mix that was broadcast a few weeks later. (And its likely his EM was possably prerecorded a few weeks earleyer) Im not convinced Sasha or John copy each other and play the two versions of Dreamtime but maybe I'm wrong. But you have to admit its a bit strange how half the tracks on the Digweed Essential Mix that was broadcast 4 weeks later on Sunday 3rd September are one this mix. And again on Digweed's Essential Mix 28th October. Also Love You Some More isn't on the August mix and Sasha was canning the arse out of that one ( i don't Know why though, that track does nothing for me at all). And only one track appears on the Sasha's Transmission set on 30th July 1995 set only 4 days earlier.

Over all i don't think its the same DJ in both sets. The June set has less vocals and a more progressive sound. The August set is a lot more vocals in it and a bit Hand Baggy in places and more uplifting (if you know what i mean) Some people also clam they can tell is Sasha because he mixes in a different key to Digweed. I cant really make any comment on that though as i know nothing about mixing in Key. Although none of these people would tell me which tracks Sasha mixed and which ones Digweed mixed on the JJJmixup set.

Anyway they are both brilliant sets. I'm uploading the other set now, so you can make your own mind up I will post it in a separate thread

I would be interested in anyone's comments, All though try and keep it constructive. I've been called Hard Faced Cunt, Wanker, Know It All Prick for my theory. I'm not trying to upset anyone. Its sometimes better to write something instead of just saying thanks for posting the set. I'm not denying the holocaust, just having some fun.

I've started the other set here http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/showthread.php?p=597415#post597415

Nice rant bro, I'd say the sets are both equalily Disputable & will continue to be so until BOTH artists are consulted. Well........ then again whos gonna remember or care to remember things that went down 13 years ago, let alone be ready to say Sure I Made That!

Re: Sasha 5th August 1995, Angels, Burnley

After listening to both of the Angels Disputed sets from 1995

Id say there both sasha and he was at his best, yet I have to agree with chunky on his spectulation that Digs is apart of the Sept set

If you ask me right out I'd say that its Both for sure but who am I to say that?

I dont know how it would have been done but if Tall Paul played sasha's scheduled set on June 10th with a recording, then i guess its just as possible that digweed did the same by having parts of a sasha set mixed in with his own that night. PLEASE TELL US ANYTHING YOU KNOW ABOUT THAT NIGHT AND SET!!!!

#1025687Post 23 of 66

Re: Sasha 5th August 1995, Angels, Burnley

You missed the whole point with this Tall Paul thing somehow. Sasha didn't turn up on the 10th June 1995. Tall Paul played instead. There was no recording of 10th June 1995. My Theory Is the set recorded on the 5 August by Sasha has been labeled 10th June 1995 and the set that's been labeled 5 Aug is from an unknown date. No Tall Paul anywhere.

The problem is that you refuse to listen to fucking any sense yourself. You criticise others for having an opinion but fail to see the error of your ways. How many fucking times do you have to be told that I WENT TO THAT FUCKING NIGHT AND IT WAS SASHA. How many times do i have to tell you i also went to the Digweed night later? Why the fucking hell do you think you are so fucking superior in your knowledge that you refuse to accept the truth? There is no fucking conspiracy theory its just you being an absolute fucking cunt of the highest order. I stood there as ive told you fucking countless times next to the box and listened tune for tune that set. i even knew what the next track was when the tapes came into bloc. Where i fucking worked and knew my music at the time INSIDE FUCKING OUT. You said it yourself you DONT UNDERSTAND MIXING IN KEY and also you haven't got the imputence to tell if its Digweed mixing or sasha which in itself after the amount of years/times and mixes and exposure to their sets you've had, you still haven't got the basic knowledge to recognise the difference is absolutly fucking laughable. Do yourself a favour mate and fucking wrap up about something you have no idea about. Why the fuck would i bother to say i went to those nights? Do you think I've got nothing better to do? The reason you have been called a twat is because you are an ignorant mother fucker who has some hair brained none entity of an idea that is fucking nothing less than embarrasing. And you have the bollocks to call Superwave a crank. Deary fucking me. You seriously need to fucking shut up about this you retarded fucking idiot.
