Re: Sasha - Renaissance Engage 003 - May 2020

I thought about it and came to the conclusion that, while nothing will ever be as good as NE1, this and JD's Bunker 8 would make a great NE4!

This part in particular

 1. 01.31.35 Joseph Ashworth - Breathe (Instrumental)
 2. 01.36.46 Bright Serpent - Balloon
 3. 01.41.48 Four Tet - Angel Falls (127 Version)
 4. 01.45.42 Jammin - Moving Differently
 5. 01.49.42 Lakehouse - No One Ever Sleeps
 6. 01.54.23 Ross From Friends - Epiphany
 7. 01.58.38 Agenda - Nothing To Me
 8. 02.02.23 Bicep - Atlas

'twas very decent - he royally dicked up one of the transition though, can't remember which one now but it was just after mid set - he brought something in on the wrong beat. wot'evs. very enjoyable

A new edition of NE would be amazing, also wouldn’t mind a new Renaissance compilation aswell

I definitely enjoyed it and i'm glad that Sasha bridged between his club sets and his magical recent compilations scene delete and Fabric 99. Need to give it some more road mileage to see if it can stand up next to NE1
A new edition of NE would be amazing, also wouldn’t mind a new Renaissance compilation aswell
it would be difficlut to capture the magic and raw newness of those compilations.

But i would love to hear something a little more alternative of S&D together. I think Diggers is the more consistent. He delivers everytime without fail. But i dont really feel his more ambient stuff eg Juxtaposition. I'm not overly keen on most of Sasha's club sets he releases, there is the occassional gem. I think he really comes into his own with these more "orchestral"/alternative mixes.

Here's hoping.

Re: Sasha - Renaissance Engage 003 - May 2020

great set by Sasha, listened to it a few times since watching it broadcasted. i am not sure about NE quality, that shit is timeless. this is more along the lines of his 2005 Essential Mix @ Maida Vale imo

Re: Sasha - Renaissance Engage 003 - May 2020

I agree, wouldnt be crazy to think these 2 sets as a possible new S&D thing. but with a dif name. NE is another thing.

Definitely Sasha is at one of this best. This one is pure quality. Breaks are back. Breaks for life.

Re: Sasha - Renaissance Engage 003 - May 2020

People saying this is similar to his RA mix or that other boring Ibiza set have no idea.

Ok, what about Global Underground - Svalbard?

Or maybe Ren should make a CD out of the set.

Agree, it has been a long time. I think it would be nice to shake up the boring comp mix with some good vibe music.
