This has been up online for about a while but whenever i've clicked on it the t/list put me off - however, upon listening it seems the tracklist was completely wrong and it turns out this is one of the best sets from [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=5"]Sasha[/URL] i've ever heard - took me right back to when i was following the Northern Exposure tour everywhere - I don't know all that many of the tracks which is a rarity for me for this era so be cool to get some IDs ... Flow and mixing are both spot on - starts off techy then goes more trippy and acidic before ramping up to more usual prog stuff. I suspect there's some Pablo Gargano and Hook records stuff in there as i recongise some things but my drug addled brain can't recall titles..

Well worth a listen..

[FONT=&amp]It's a link to a load of Toronto Rave mixtapes and the above mix is on there, listed as the better days mix.. the date of the above tracks would be more in line with the November date that's on that site (and Erick's mixcloud) as I know he was playing these tracks around then as that's when i was going out a ton - i'd suspect Erick's labelling is correct in this instance[/FONT]

The original Better Days mix was posted on Oldskool Anthemz by John E, which is where the flyer also came from. I think that the Toronto site is relabeling them.

I may be wrong but I don't think that he started playing that Slacker track until August 1996. It appears on the EM, but not on the Atlanta set. It also appears on the set recorded at Mark Hunts in September.

I really do think he's mistaken if he did indeed post it stating that- esp something like BBE - Sasha started playing that in March 96 and wouldn't still be playing it in November. I clearly rememebr seeing Sasha in November and December a few times and Arkana, RITM of Milk, Lost without you etc are all in line with that period

no no - you get me wrong - i'm not syaing it ISN'T a Sasha set, of course it is. The fact is, the dates don't match - it's a set from the middle of that year not from November..

BBE had already been in the UK charts by September! There's no way Sasha would keep playing it (it reached the top 5 if i'm not mistaken)

Idiots trying to get exposure for their website. If you can falsely label a set, on a date that the artist actually played, it gives it more credence. Part 1 is fake. Part 2 is Sasha, but still from an unknown source.

Nah, it's not fake - you can hear DeNiro being mixed in at the end of it and the 2nd part continues on. It's definitely Sasha

Again, BBE was not being played by Sasha in November. Fact is, it's a set from around November - the other set contains tracks that were around before or in summer - sure, he might still be playing the odd one or two come November but he's not going to be playing the whole block of 'em

Peddle? No no, was simply reposting something - quite happy to be told that's a fake, just lured in by the mans account with all those Pete Tong essential selections on - presumed he was something to do with Radio 1, that's all.

This, however, is different - first mix, which you say is fake, mixes into the second - thus it's not fake, thus it must be Sasha and those tunes are all from the end of 1996 which means we have a 3 hour live club mix- it must be from somewhere - maybe it's not from Better Days but i can absolutely guarantee that that other mix is not from November.

It's unlikely that someone has purposefully mislabelled a set but somehow mangaged to end up with the tracks on it correlating to the date - yea, people are dicks and change names of sets, but it's more likely that it's the first one, not this one, that's been changed

he didn't 'drop' anything - just didn't play them, you can only get through so many tunes in a 3 hour session innit'. there's not one tune in that other mix that came out any later than August...what makes you so sure it's from November? it's not going to be the case that he plays a 3 hour set at the end of Nov. and does'nt play anything from the previous 3 months - - have you ever seen him do that? Even in his '95 BT & Blue Amazon days when that's all he seemed to play, you'd still have the odd track here and there that would be new.

Either way, happy to hear this set - brings back good memories

I'm somewhat confused - so you don't even think it's Sasha at all now?

Also, pivitol why? Becuase he played it a few times? I feel that's just your perception as there aren't all that many mixes from 1996 out there to check, but what we do know is that that Liquid Groove mix was a week after the essential mix and he didn't play it on there..

The files from the Toronto site were 320kbps, so I joined them, closed the gaps and boosted the volume a little bit in some places.

Probably could be. I haven't spoken to Danny in a while. It's always hard to decide what to put out there. Probably not helped by people being negative sometimes.
