You don't know what else is going on in his life. Just because Digweed is knocking out a few hours a week, it doesn't mean everyone else should do the same. Maybe he has had his own issues, maybe not. I haven't done fuck all work in the last 4 weeks and I'm enjoying the time off, so why shouldn't Sasha?

Hopefully Sasha does more than this going forward, Its a two way thing. John as been class the few weeks getting pleasure from the fans and like wise back. And its been greatly appreciated.by us all. Saturday nights are so much easier when we have something to fall into.

But do you not find that we used to get longer sets from clubs back in the day, and now all we get are these one hour snippets. Yes, it's great that these guys are sharing the lockdown with us. But i feel that we no longer get those all-in-one long sets where they take you on a journey. On that front John has been up-standing with these bunker sessions.
It would be nice for example to have Sasha play something more chilled and build it up to show off his talents and taste. Rather than all the peak hour pieces he shares with us. At least John varies his styles on transitions.
Also if we are honest, its not like they are gifting them to us anyway. Its keeping match fit and in this day and age its promotion. Cheaper than flyers and a much larger reach. Social, baby!

I don't agree, you could get 6 hours of absolute bangers and still someone would complain, it's hard to please everyone but this stuff is definitely affecting us all, you also have to consider that this is a very stressful time for musicians as they've lost their basic income so with that in mind it's not exactly productive in any shape or form to put out a 6 hour set of stuff you could be saving for actual paid work, like someone said sasha (haven't checked it out) gave us an hour of peak time, those are then ripped and by the time those tracks hit the shelves a good percentage of potential customers for those tracks are sick of them, it's catch 22.

He’s a national treasure in my eyes, so don’t mistake me, I love the guy for what he’s done to the industry, especially how he’s fuelled my love for DJing, collecting tracks and rare vinyl. I’m just saying he has every opportunity to share a few (complete) sets that perhaps he liked. They don’t have to be recent. I do think some of his chilled sets are the most imaginative. I was the first to upload the longest Sasha set so far, being the one in Warung beach. That took a fair bit of negotiation and exchanges. So as a bit of fun I’m laying down the gauntlet to everyone out there - Who’s got a longer set? It’s got to be authorised, no dodgy audience ones. A bit of constructive sharing could be refreshing during this lockdown period especially to those wanting to reflect and partially escape[/QUOTE] it doesn't work like that though, like it or not music is business and as you'll know any business worth its salt hold onto their assets, it's the same for djs, you mentioned he's a multi million pound dj ? well how do you think it's gotten to that point ? not just covid times but the market as a whole has a supply and demand problem, the supply is high yet demand is diminishing, this is why assets are highly controlled in the market. truth be told out of say 1000 people who listen to this set only say 10 will buy any tunes, it just doesn't make business sense to fire out long sets for free of your best assets, As I said supply is high but that doesn't mean to say that Sasha's own sound has a high supply, to make something unique you have to graft at searching for "your own sound" and that's really hard work, guys like this could ultimately play anything they please but then they risk becoming just another generic dj which means less gigs which means your business is failing. do you get what I'm trying to say to you?
