Ok, this one turned out really good!

Recorded with a [URL="http://tascam.com/product/im2/"]Tascam iM2[/URL] which is a mic that fits onto an iPhone. For the price and size, I can't recommend this thing enough. It was killer.

So this was an interesting set. [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=5"]Sasha[/url] played involver3 stuff for an hour, then completely stopped and started a new set that was a bit faster pace. The involver stuff is obviously pretty slow but the audience was really into it.

FYI for audio nerds I recorded the full 2 hours about 6 feet from a speaker and did not use Tascam's app. I used Twisted Wave instead which allows you to turn the display off and still record. In post I ran it through a Waves Maserati GRP compressor and did some EQing. I did a low bandpass on 500hz that made a word of difference. It was a lot muddier sounding before that.

Nice! That song is killer.

So after listening to this set again outside of the studio, I have to say the lack of bass is a bit disappointing compared to the Avalon set I recorded. I might try to play with it again.

Not that into vocals at all but really enjoyed the 1st hour.. So deep and hypnotic..sexy stuff..

I can imagine the purists thinking that... but to me it sounds like he is really enjoying his music. No way is [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=5"]Sasha[/url] a "follower" in my mind!!! Anyway, guess there is only a limited amount you can do with dance music, and seems like the pendulum is swinging away from the dull progressive house of the last five years (probably because it was terminally boring!!?), back towards melodic stuff with a bit of emotion...surely no bad thing?

Well, last friday after like 3 hours of his new deep house style, he picked up, and by the 4th hour I felt this 2006-07 and even 2001 progressive bassline for a good hour. He really impressed me, I had such a good time.

Now I need to get ready for Nick in 2 weeks.
