why not? i moved there for 3 weeks, decided it was too expensive for me right now. back in boston and will probably be back in korea by the end of the month hopefully. jet set life!
oh, was just curious lol. Hawaii pretty much my second home, majority of my friends are hawaiian so i was just curious really. =p

yea i thought about moving to HI as well but it just isnt cost effective, everything too expensive and the wages dont make up for it like all other states =\

I would usually just play ogg on itunes or cog but I want to put this on my ipod for my flight, what a hassle.

Anyway found this app for the mac: SoX

#1419325Post 45 of 163

Re: Danny Howells Full Dig Deeper set @ Freeze Liverpool for Macmillan Cancer support

Re: Danny Howells Full Dig Deeper set @ Freeze Liverpool for Macmillan Cancer support

Thanks to everyone who has donated. Were not technical people so if the file is not to your likeing we can only apologise. But this was the only format we could put it out on.

Also the reason the full 6 hours mix is not on, was at Dannys request.

#1419422Post 53 of 163

Re: Danny Howells Full Dig Deeper set @ Freeze Liverpool for Macmillan Cancer support

The same happened myself, paid through paypal last night and was downloading and it failed... might give it another go this evening

In fact, the .ogg file has a lowpass cut at around 16.5 Khz, making anything above 192k mp3 sorta useless. But it sounds great in 192 too :)

thanks

Re: Danny Howells Full Dig Deeper set @ Freeze Liverpool for Macmillan Cancer support

He means that converting it to 192kbs is enough since you can't improve the quality of the original.

Re: Danny Howells Full Dig Deeper set @ Freeze Liverpool for Macmillan Cancer support

Hmmm but mp3 is a lossy format so even if ogg hovers at the same quality as 192, recompressing it into 192kbps mp3 means the codec discards more?

Anyway I went with 320, assuming that is lesser compression.

#1419752Post 61 of 163

Re: Danny Howells Full Dig Deeper set @ Freeze Liverpool for Macmillan Cancer support

It's just better to always aim high, you're sure not losing anything ! :) And you lot are confusing me

#1419760Post 62 of 163

Re: Danny Howells Full Dig Deeper set @ Freeze Liverpool for Macmillan Cancer support

Mades simply explained that, in this case, by converting it into 192 you won't lose anything, and if you have disk-space issues that will save you a few megs.

Re: Danny Howells Full Dig Deeper set @ Freeze Liverpool for Macmillan Cancer support

Were once does it say I'm a dj? I'm a promotor iv never mixed a record in my life. Our guy who helps us out on the tech side for free has been away this weekend. Again chaps it's for charity were all doing this as a fundraising initiative and it's very time consuming.

I will ring him as soon as he's back and il get him to sort those who have donated a matter of priority. Sorry if you've been waiting. Theirs no conspiracy everybody should have access to the mox who donates

dave seaman has also just offered a meal for two with him before he plays for us in Liverpoo January 29th. free drinks all night and signed goodies for our competition

I have also had confirmation of lee burridge that I can record his set at our night and make available through donation.

Re: Danny Howells Full Dig Deeper set @ Freeze Liverpool for Macmillan Cancer support

hey guys... I donated but the .ogg thing is so damn impractical! What did you use to convert? perhaps not the best choice of format to say the least!?

#1419875Post 69 of 163

Re: Danny Howells Full Dig Deeper set @ Freeze Liverpool for Macmillan Cancer support

What platform are you on? For mac, Max (which DD shared) or Audacity works. On Windows you might be able to use EAC, I've used it to convert WAV to mp3 but not ogg to mp3 though.

Re: Danny Howells Full Dig Deeper set @ Freeze Liverpool for Macmillan Cancer support

I downloaded something called Blaze media pro...worked like a treat. Now to wait another 20 minutes to dig deeper into howells :)

Got my link a few days ago & listened to the set yesterday.. Pretty dam GOOD. The tempo was a lil harder from Danny from the very start, which i don't mind at all... Just a lil surprised.

Good set.

Re: Danny Howells Full Dig Deeper set @ Freeze Liverpool for Macmillan Cancer support

If you have a look a the website of the club. It only holds 300 it's very intimate and generates a fantastic atmosphere. Danny said he was up for it right from the start. So I completely agree iv seen his dig deeper sets this was a bit more intense than normal.

He is still one of the best djs in the world. A true gent and I can't wait for him to come back next year. ( he has already promised to do so)
