Re: Ambient sets

Just literally discovered this gem 8)

Reminds me of that early Biosphere sound again 8)

Konntinent - All Lines lead in

4 Tracks

Described as 'All lines lead in' is a wholly remarkable EP, particularly striking is Konntinent's ability to weave a story into his music - the EP conveys a very definite feeling of beginning, middle and end, visiting upon eerie and unsettling amalgams of strings and field recordings, to incredibly delicate melodies picked out on guitar. The tracks build out of static and lost radio frequencies into shimmering, hazy pieces of blissful music, hanging in the air like some delicate mist before disappearing on the next wave of hum and white noise.

Re: Ambient sets

Peter James - Holding on, letting go 8)

5 tracks

Described as "this offering from UK based ambient artist Peter James is a collection of tracks taken from his debut album "holding on – letting go", plus "flight of tears". This is in the same vein as the album tracks, and almost acts as a "full stop" to the end of that project. The four album tracks are all particular parts of a long journey. From here to there. There to elsewhere. Emotionally charged, longing, and sometimes difficult music, created almost entirely from bass guitar samples. These pieces are organic, evolving and involving. Human and earthly as opposed to alien and otherworldly landscapes."

Re: Ambient sets

Orange crush - The fields

"The Fields" can be described as a movement through the moods and emotions harvested by Orange Crush. Processing his music to age his sound, notably in songs like "Adrift" and "Across the Breeze”, immerses us into his significantly weathered melodies that warm our ears. Continuing these amenities, “Freedom Flight” delivers percussive developments that overlay his antiqued synths and vibrate perplexingly against one another. “Distant Child” follows a youthful excursion as sampled enigmatic voices continually surface through the timbre, fluctuating and evasive as they submerge back into the atmospheric fields.

Re: Ambient sets

Corwin Trails - Corwin Trails

Described as "an odd mixture of ambient down-tempo with storytelling. This self-titled EP release from Samuel Vandiver incorporates a narrative element in each track that is blanketed with rich, smooth melodic phrases. Burried underneath these surreal landscapes are cut up samples of anything from children's stories to philosophy lectures"

Re: Ambient sets

Hills West - glare

Hills West is the solo project of Tom Carey Jr. produced in one of the last remotely wooded areas of Long Island, New York. Glare touches on many different feelings yet overall the album seems reminiscent of a youthful time. Starting off the album with "Sonsun" immediately we are placed into horizon thick with haze where indecipherable voices are smothered in thick organic tones. Beautiful vignettes such as "Spring Fire"and "Salvia Pond" add to the dreamy youthful memories common to the album. Then waking up to reversed melodies of "Noe Jick Day" adds a melancholy quality that is carefully not overdone.

Re: Ambient sets

Sora shima - Distancing EP

The Distancing EP is a solo project produced by Jason Lurman under the Sora Shima moniker he shares with Gavin McDermott, Adam Fulton & Rob Shirlow. The four song EP entitled Distancing, alludes to a beautiful naturalistic setting free from any disrupting inhabitants. Yet all of the songs are given an edgy quality with the occasional hollow or sharp tones increasing tension. These agitated sounds are eventually subdued by their softly moving counterparts composed of minimal textural drones. Overall this meditative experience dissolves mental thought and is physically relaxing. Although, in order to grasp the full effect that Sora Shima provides, one must remain in a state of deep concentration and emotional awareness.

Yagya

This is special, trust me

I believe this is probably one of the best posts I may ever post here on MS, and while not strictly ambient, I believe this is some of the most relaxing and emotive music I have ever heard.

This is more of a recommendation than anything else. These tracks come from various CDs, Yagya has released. Needless to say, I have just ordered "Rigning"

Sinkfield - Sun burned memories 8)

Described as "Sun Burned Memories is a mellow afternoon of daydreams where Jose Rodriguez has embraced a state of absentmindedness. His preference for thickly layered synths, absorbed with glaring light and muffled with delicate shadows are most knowingly revealed in "doll face" and "carmine", both of which easily allow ones thoughts to be completely dissolved. Additionally, subtle lo-fi qualities personify the different fields of sound and contribute to the humble atmosphere of the EP."

Saturday Index - Partly cloudy

Described as "a melancholy and nature inspired EP from Saturday Index reflects the cooler imagery of early morning skies above tearful trees. Partly Cloudy follows a mellow wavelength capable of inducing deep thought and reasoning. Artist Jedidiah Becker from Denver, Colorado, mirrors the natural sky with crystalline melodies whose fronts progress and converge with one another."

In addition to the four tracks offered by Saturday Index are three reinterpreted title tracks
