I felt the same..tried 2 times..never got into it. The mix is not bad, don't get me wrong but the tracks just don't do much for my taste. I know Mariano has changed his track choice a lot but from time to time, I still try one of his mixes out hoping for another deep Prog bomb but it seems, these days are over.

I agree with Tom.... Ive followed his career closely from the begginings when he played every thursday at a small bar 3 blocks from my house.... nothing to do with those days.

I am defo not living in the past. There are so many good but yet unkown artists out there that I never have a problem with finding music I dig. Also each artist has any right to do something different and I wish Mariano all the best with his career because he deserves to be heard. When a DJ I used to like follows a new route I do not like, I let him go and move on. Mariano was one of the very few DJs who could blow me away with his deep progressive mixes and I miss them because he had a unique style...guess that's why I am still hoping for some deep bombs here and there in his sets. ;)

Exactly the way I feel. i.e.Satoshi. With DM, I loved the deeper progressive as well and I admit it was almost halfway through before I really got into this!! But, even though the music is not my first love, it is incredibly good. It's far more layed and intricate than I would have expected from him. Actually it reminded me a lot of some of Anthony Pappa's work, which can't be a bad thing. :lol: I think he has improved immensely and I am trying to balance pros and cons here.:D

Here is what I don't get though, I play and love all kinds of music, so I certainly don't expect a professional DJ to stick to one sound or style. I know some Dj's might specialize in a particular style, but I can not fault them for playing other styles as well.

For Mariano he is great with the deep sounds, but I am blown away with the set. Props to him to taking it to another level with the Techno sounds! 8) If you chop this set into about 4 parts totalling 1 hr like Chuck C did, its nothing but mindblowing music!! :D

For me, the great DJ´s are those guys that, no matter what they play, you just go "damn, this is not my usual stuff, or even his usual stuff, but I got to admit I´m digging this!"

That´s what separates the great from the good, IMHO.
