Re: Ryan Hanson- Streetside Progressions (A Tribute Project)

Bolkonsky Cirkle- Ive gotten a chance to listen to it a couple of times. The first track I like, although its a bit minimal. The beat is cool and it really sets the tone for the overall set. The second/third track is my favorite of the mix. It def. had the most rolling base line of them all and falls well within the type of sound I like. Then it felt like everything afterward slid towards the clickity clackity. Although the mixing was flawless and the programming of track arrangement is good, its not my type of sound and something I wouldn't listen to regularly. Maybe some of that was partial to the off beats, very abrasive sounds, and lack off progression (but I'm so old school, listening to a dying sound). The political sample was interesting and very reminiscent of the GW sample. I got a kick out of it. Ohh, I thought I caught a couple of Plastkiman samples, one of which sounded like the opening track to Musik, and the other was a crazy snare line, maybe spastik? The mix could of used another two or three tracks to stretch it to an hour. Overall, Its nice work and cool that its a compilation of minus tracks. I can appreciate that. Glad to see your not letting your Ableton skills got to pot.
