Anthony has lost his touch. Sad to say he was another one of my favs but simply has lost it with everything he's done lately.

#197984Post 3 of 30

agreed...add him to the list with Sander, Lawler, Tomiie.
agreed...add him to the list with Sander, Lawler, Tomiie.
dood, that's a crock o' shit! i saw Lawler on saturday in LA and he tore the place down. he was throwing down sinister tracks all nite long! just cause you don't dig his studio albums doesn't mean he's "lost it".

yeah, but i think he's right with pappa, he really used to be one of my favorites, but now i'm missing the flow in his set. it's nothing special anymore. ...just my opinion

MY favourite set ever:

Anthony Pappa - Digweed Kiss100 (16-03-02)

Anthony Pappa is great Dj ... at least for this set... that I never get bored of.

#198374Post 7 of 30

pappa still rocks he is throwing down some killer breakbeat lately! :D

#198392Post 8 of 30

I don't know, Pappa's Balance CD is the best stuff I've heard from him in 2 years. Disc 1 actually pulls off the coexistence of breaks & prog without being cheesy, and Disc 2 is full of dark dance floor thumpers. If anything, I'd say Pappa is coming out of the slump he was in about a year ago.
pappa still rocks he is throwing down some killer breakbeat lately!
well, his recent Annie on One mix was sounding class, UNTIL he threw in some bitch-ass "no doubt" remix which fucked the whole thing up!! where did that even come from???

i guess the aussie breaks scene is reclaiming one of it's own.

#198437Post 10 of 30

ugh...i hate when dj's do that....

#198463Post 11 of 30

The last time I saw him live (which was a couple of months ago), he sounded all right to me.

#198536Post 12 of 30

Pappa rules again!!! :P

#198622Post 13 of 30

This promo was better than his balance disk 2

i liked disk one.

#198684Post 14 of 30

I thought this promo mix was actually pretty good...not the best I've heard from him, but it has some good areas in it...

#198760Post 15 of 30
MY favourite set ever: Anthony Pappa - Digweed Kiss100 (16-03-02)
I'll have to go grab that off freshlymixed then.

#198795Post 17 of 30

I think this promo set isn't that bad either, but the whole thing gets a bit boring a couple of times. He could have definitely done better.

Haven't heard the promo as yet, but there's some great stuff from Pappa out there.. I'm really keen to hear what he'll pull out for the 3+ hours he's playing here in a few weeks at the Balance tour.
i guess the aussie breaks scene is reclaiming one of it's own.
Doubtful. He's played in Sydney twice in the past 5 years or so I'm afraid. :( Would be great to have him return home more often though.

Believe that's the Shmuel Flash mix..still WL though

Specially => 04. Erick E - Make You Smile [White Label] & 05. Rythm Unlimited - All I Wanna Do [Silver Planet]

#200421Post 27 of 30

I agree, he could have done better. Not bad mix, but just OK for me. Don't know his older mix sets, but hopefully he will pull together a jam'n set next time.
