ive been listening to some of these so called tribal artists....like the new chus and ceballos proton set, or the new dj vibe radio set...all these guys used to be called tribal. now im not sooo sure on what they are spinning...they seemed to have jumped on the tech house wagon like alot of other djs.

does anyone have some good old fashion iberican/new york tribal sets floating around? maybe a old chus a ceballos set......back when they were good :roll:

or if neone has there fav set or recommendation pleasssee lemme know. thanks in advance

I totally feel your pain... its ridiculous... I haven't heard any awesome tribal set in years... I want to be wowed when I hear music, but that just doesn't happen as much any more. My fav Chus and Ceballos set is the Kiss 100 set from 2003, should be in the archives if you don't have it. I used to also love me some Saeed and Palaash and John Creamer. I'll have to go thru some of my sets and see what I can dig up for you but it'll have to be over the weekend.

One of my favorite is Pete tha Zouk, top class tribal Dj. You can also try some old Thomas Penton's sets (search his official web page ).

Tribal is no more what it used to be. I stopped going to Chus & Ceballos' gigs when they visit NY - last few times were a big disappointment. Most tribal DJs seem to have forgotten the good tribal sound and are now exercising more trendy styles. Miss the classic tribal...

Another name that hasn't been mentioned I think - Luca Ricci used to have some good tribal sets from what I remember. His work is also good. Sultan used to play good tribal stuff too...
