[B]Roger Waters - Thanks for the ride Eric!![/B] After recording ?Money And Cigarettes? in 1983, Eric Clapton would not have a stable band for long periods. In late 1983, Eric joined the ?ARMS Supergroup?. (ARMS is an acronym for Action Research Into Multiple Sclerosis.) The band played several dates in England and the US to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis research. Also in the band were Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Joe Cocker and Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones. Eric then joined Roger Water?s band (ex-Pink Floyd) for the recording of Waters? album ?The Pros And Cons Of Hitchhiking? (August 1983) and the subsequent 1984 tour. Eric did this against the advice of his manager and signed on as ?just the guitar player?.

Jimi Hendrix - Woke up This Morning and Found Myself Dead

This CD contains a recording Jimi himself made of a jam at the Scene in NYC in early March (the 7th?) of 1968. This release features an incredibly drunk, filthy mouthed Jim Morrison! He is there shouting vulgar things while Jimi tries to play. Hendrix is tearing shit up on Bleeding Heart when Morrison grabs the microphone and begins rambling "all night long. I've got a lovely woman... sing my song.." This is followed by a low moan "bbbwwwwaaaaaa." Soon Morrison breaks into a bizarre tirade ... "suck my ass baby ... fuck me all night long!"

Hendrix then begins tearing through "Morrison's Lament," with Jim singing to an angry sounding crowd. "Fuck her in the ass! fuck her in the favorite!" When Morrison begins drifting away from the mic Hendrix politely, and with a laugh, explains to Jim - "sing in that on right there. That's the recording mic." Morrison follows his directions and belts out - "Fuck her in the asshole ... fuck my little woman ... in her little pussy ... little suck ass ... cunt ... little asshole ... fuck you in the ass, my little suck ass cunt." The band continued to play behind him, and Hendrix can be heard on the tape announcing Morrison's presence and offering him a better microphone.

There are questions as to the rest of the line-up. Buddy Miles was there and participated a little in the jam but there was also another drummer on hand. (Buddy's attendance is debatable. I asked him myself, and he said it was him, but what else is he going to say after 30years!), Johnny Winters is advertised to have been there as well, but although he was friends with Jimi and worked with him from time to time, Johnny was in Texas at the time this jam took place. Anyway, Every single person on stage was so drunk or so high... How could they remember?? Hendrix could care less as he works away in a frenzy. A really bizarre recording! One part Hendrix at his raw best - one part insulting drunk debauchery. Voted as the worst Hendrix boot to own in some discographies... but it is a cool album. This record has been bootlegged so many times that the Hendrix Foundation says that it's the most bootlegged record of Jimi Hendrix and should be in the Guinness book!

[B]John Bonham - "In Through the Out Door" session Outtakes[/B] John "Bonzo" Bonham, was - for those who did not know - the drummer of the English rock band Led Zeppelin. He was renowned for his power, speed and "feel" for the groove.

During Led Zeppelin's first tour of the United States in December 1968, Bonham became friends with Vanilla Fudge drummer Carmine Appice. Appice introduced him to Ludwig drums, which he then used for the rest of his career. Bonham used the longest and heaviest sticks available, which he referred to as "trees".

His hard hitting style was displayed to great effect on many Led Zeppelin songs, including "Immigrant Song" (Led Zeppelin III), "When the Levee Breaks" (Led Zeppelin IV / ), "Kashmir" (Physical Graffiti), "The Ocean" (Houses of the Holy), and "Achilles Last Stand" (Presence). The studio recording of "Misty Mountain Hop" perfectly captures his keen sense of dynamics this is similarly exhibited by his precise drumming on "No Quarter."

On several cuts from later albums, Bonham rather adeptly handled funk and Latin-influenced drumming. Songs like "Royal Orleans" and "Fool in the Rain" are good examples, the latter displaying great skill with a New Orleans shuffle and a samba rhythm.

His drum solos, first "Pat's Delight" and then later "Moby Dick" and finally "Over the Top", would often last for half-an-hour and regularly featured his use of bare hands to achieve different sound effects. In Led Zeppelin tours after 1969, Bonham would expand his basic kit to include congas, orchestral timpani, and a symphonic gong. Bonham is also credited (by the Dallas Times Herald) with the first in-concert use of electronic timpani drum synthesisers (most likely made by Syndrum) during a performance of the song "Kashmir" in Dallas, Texas in 1977.

Many modern rappers would later heavily sample his drumming and incorporate it into their composition, such as the Beastie Boys, who sampled "The Ocean" and "When the Levee Breaks".

Maybe the concert in front of the biggest crowd in the history of Black Sabbath - it is said that 200.000 people or more visited the California Jam. Recordings from that concert are released on various Black Sabbath Bootleg CDs The special thing about this boot is the deluxe CD cover where instead of a booklet the picture has been printed on the front plastic. Looks really amazing. Also the sound is very good but mono(?). Released 1993 or so!

The bootleg gave themself a second title: An Event In Rock History. And that's a fact! Rob Halford, better known as ex-singer for Judas Priest, joined Sabbath for two gigs to support Ozzy on his last shows for the "No More Tours"-Tour because Dio refused to do so! On this boot you can hear recordings from the second concert plus recordings of the four tracks which Black Sabbath Mark I played finally at the show together and which later on lead to the plans for a great re-union with Osbourne/Butler/Iommi/Ward! Recordings are made in the crowd, so sound quality is less good then on radio shows but still ok. Released in 1993, supposed to be released by an Italian label.

In 1979, ex-Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne was forming a new band. Future Slaughter bassist Dana Strum recommended Rhoads to Osbourne. Rhoads got the call for the audition just before the last Quiet Riot gig. He walked in with a Les Paul guitar and a Fender practice amp and started warming up; Osbourne immediately gave him the job. Rhoads recalled later, "I just tuned up and did some riffs, and he said, 'You've got the gig.' I had the weirdest feeling, because I thought, 'You didn't even hear me yet.'" Osbourne described Rhoads' playing as "God entering my life." Rhoads subsequently recommended his friend Greg Leon, who also taught guitar at Musonia for Rhoads' mother, to replace him in Quiet Riot, as Rhoads packed his bags and headed off to the UK. They arrived in England in March 1980 to begin working on their first album. Rhoads and Osbourne met up with bassist Bob Daisley in an English pub. Osbourne heard good things about Bob Daisley's playing in Rainbow, so he asked him to join his band; Daisley accepted. Osbourne and company auditioned many drummers but were being pressured by the record company, Jet Records, to start recording. Finally, the last drummer on their list, former Uriah Heep drummer Lee Kerslake, got the gig. They also hired keyboardist Don Airey who had played with Osbourne a few years prior on the Black Sabbath album Never Say Die!. The band headed into the studio to record the band's debut album, Blizzard Of Ozz. Propelled by Rhoads' inspiring neo-classical guitar work and highlighting Daisley's contemporary lyrics, the album proved an instant hit with rock fans, particularly in the USA. They released two singles from the album: "Mr. Crowley" (inspired lyrically by occultist Aleister Crowley) and the hit "Crazy Train". The band toured extensively and then quickly wrote and recorded the follow-up Diary Of A Madman. Two singles were released from Diary Of A Madman; "Over The Mountain" and "Flying High Again". Two days after recording was done, Osbourne fired Kerslake and Daisley, and he hired ex-Black Oak Arkansas drummer Tommy Aldridge and ex-Quiet Riot bassist Rudy Sarzo. Diary of a Madman was released shortly thereafter and Osbourne launched another tour with this same lineup. Around this time Rhoads remarked to Osbourne, Tommy Aldridge and friend Kelly Garni that he was considering leaving rock for a few years to earn a degree in classical guitar. In the documentary Don't Blame Me, Osbourne confirmed Randy's desire to earn the degree and stated that had he lived, he didn't believe Randy would have stayed in his band. Friend and ex-Quiet Riot bassist Kelly Garni has stated in interviews that if Randy had continued to play rock, he might have gone the route of more keyboard-driven rock, which had become so popular through the 1980's.

Beat-Club was a German music programme that ran from September 1965 to December 1972. It was broadcast from Bremen, Germany on Erstes Deutsches Fernsehen, the national public TV channel of the ARD, and produced by one of its members, Radio Bremen, later co-produced by the WDR Network following the 38th episode. It is notable for being the first German show to be based around popular music, and featured legendary artists like Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and Neu! in its seven-year run. In 1972, it was replaced by Musikladen.
