Guys, i know mediafire works fine for you in the states, but unfortunatelly they have shut down the service for latin america, and i'm not sure how it works in europe.

That's why i would ask to prevent using it since the sets won't be available for everyone but the members from US and probably europe.

actually, the utopia of getting free bandwidth seems to be fading out.

rapidshare has limited its features A LOT. megaupload did the same, or worst. now mediafire. sendspace never has free slots during the day.

what options do we have? wikiupload still looks decent imho. any other suggestions?

funny, when I started with the Hernan links, everybody said "Mediafire is da bomb, use it use it use it". :lol:

I will try to avoid Mediafire in Future but please keep one thing in mind..there is not ONE upload service which is good for everybody so we can only try to pick the ones that are best for most users at the moment. All "free" services have one thing in common..they start big, fast and world wide and after they recruted enough fans, they restrict their service and highlight their subscription options where you pay $$$$ to use it.

Maybe we should write down our experiences to see which service works best for most people

Yousendit -> expires after 25 downloads = worthless for us because the link is dead faster than you can say "zero post leechers"

Mediafire -> Downloads work in Germany but uploads are painful because they fail all the time and the download speed has daramatically decreased lately

Sendspace -> never a download spot available in Germany no matter how often you try, worst upload service for my country

Megaupload -> slow but always working

What we also could do is to gather a list of most common upload services and start a poll which one is the best.....

Hello, i´m from Mexico, and yes Mediafire is having problems for us here.

Megaupload -> never a slot open untill 4:00 AM till 9:00 AM

Sendspace -> from 12:00 AM till 10:00 AM (but doing the translation trick works sometimes)

Rapidshare -> always open

Maybe they have just grown too big, too fast, I haven't had any problems with failed uploads and you can use download accelerators so it always downloads fast for me as well. No blank pages! I really do hope they work it out because it has actually worked better and more reliably than any other site for me. It's also really well set out and easy to use.

Megaupload has limited the downloads. I keep getting the "bandwidth exceeded" sign and telling that i have to wait 1000 minutes.

This is a test, i found this free one unlimited storage space and bandwith give it a try and see how long we can go before we break this one.

I loaded a small set for this test i am at work and don't have many files here.

anybody have problems with this one? It doesn't matter which one we choose we will bust it eventually but i would like to make them available to as many people that we can, i can't upload to 2 different servers it would be too much to handle. We need to choose one that works for most people.

Please reupload the sets you have uploaded with mediafire, please. I know is much work but it is the only way to have thats sets.
