Re: John Dahlback - Pickadoll Dec Mix 2006

i've been listening to this for a couple days now and I can tell you that this guy has no idea how to make a mix that flows. This thing goes from big banging progressive house into the most minimal of house. I has great tracks...but they could have been mixed way better...programming wise.

.....well Jeffrey u r a Dj too so u should know that everybody has his own way of viewing and puting tracks together. John D. is a great artist known all around the world and his tracks are played by almost every DJ and i'm sure his respected the same way. So its kind a strange that u labeled him as "this guy has no idea how to make a mix"???

Dhar 2 thnx for share!

Re: John Dahlback - Pickadoll Dec Mix 2006

^^^ Just because a mix is made by a prolific producer doesn't mean that it automatically has to be great.

the mix was alright for me. No respect to Mr. Dahlback, but I'd echo what Jeffery said - to me, a mix with some killer tracks in it does not in and of itself make for a great mix. Obviously the results vary by mix and by the set of ears listening to it... But I've heard tons of world famous producers who make great tunes put out mixes that in my opinion are less than exciting.

That said, pick up Dahlback's "At the Gun Show, vol. 1" available on Pickadoll, it's AWESOME!!! 8) 8) 8)

Re: John Dahlback - Pickadoll Dec Mix 2006

thanks Miro, you definitely know what I'm talking about...it's all about the feel. when you put a banging house track right before a minimal house track, you really kill the vibe in the mix.
