can't get better than goldie. run right now to the record store & buy "the incredible sounds of drum & bass mixed by goldie". i hope you can still find it. i have listened to this a ton of times, & each time it blows me away completely.

roni size also rulz. for a bit of a harder edge, check out: black sun empire, pendulum, bad company, bad robot (love the name), cause 4 concern, corrupt souls, & robot death squad.

if you come in winmx to chatroom: djmusic, the mods are usually sharing quite a bit of non-commerical drum & bass.

ah yes!!!! the orange cd and the white cd!!!! my alltime favorite!!! its gets sooo druggy and low down.....i love that shit :) me and some buddies a while back, were twisted one night, and we had this playing....they made me change it cause it was scaring them and makin em have a bad one. hahaha it is on the "incredible" label...if that helps find it

@thezzapper and lilsensa... aaah yes I've been reading some very nice things about goldie.. itchin to get my grubby paws on some of that music.. I think at this point ebay is gonna be my best bet, thanks for all the info.

John B is doing some different angles which are really interesting. Electro inspired DnB, v nice. His new album is out and about now.

Maybe i'm a little long in the tooth but the original godfathers, Fabio and Grooverider, are still the business. Check out Johnny L - Piper (Grooverider mix) for some proper darkness.

Bukem never disappoints either.

Hidden Agenda BOXED97 Intelligent Drum & Bass #3

Ive got this, its a bit old but you mite like it. Its from an old mixtape that Hidden Agenda a drum & bass duo from Newcastle. They did it for the BOXED boys to put out on the old BOXED label which went on to become Global Underground. This is volume #3. I also have volume #1 if your interested.

for me fabio, grooverider or technical itch is a step to hard. I like more atmospheric dnb but not only. Some of my favorites are Pete Rann,jx3p,Solid Silbrfish, Future Engineers, AI, Blue Mar Ten,Nu Tone Big Bud, Greg Packer, BlueWater - blablabla.... .. of course Ltj, Makoto (ft Deeizm [IMG]http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g261/buggett/emoticons/page1/sweet.gif[/IMG])

Hey Dusk, if you like atmospheric dnb, then LTJ Bukem is of course a common answer. I also like Doc Scott (he did a Mixmag cd years ago that I still listen too all the time). Big Bud and Tayla are also great. Anything from Goodlooking Records I usually dig.

Back in the day when I first started listening to dnb I picked up cds like: Dieselboy - 97 Octane (very good cd), DJ Dara - Full Circle, & AK1200 - Fully Automatic.

LTJ Bukem also did a Mixmag live cd that has to be one of my all time favorites.

I've checked out some Photek, pretty good stuff, kinda hard for me to distinguish between the various sets... sometimes they all sound pretty similar... then again I'm only just getting into it.
